UAB's Guzman earns conference honors: UAB junior guard Carmen Guzman, who averaged better than 20 points per game during the Blazers' four-game win streak and earned MVP honors at last week's Blazer Invitational, has been named the Conference USA player of the week. Guzman is leading the Blazers in scoring at 16.0 points per game despite coming off the bench in all eight games in which she has seen action.
