But Cal isn't here. How are we still getting 5 star recruits to visit?:domokun:
memphis is memphis with or without cal period
this
This is a basketball
The strength of his game is in the mid-range area. He has a deceptively quick 1st step to the basket and mid-range pull-up is high level.

I like the sound of that!

He reminds some of Penny.
Question.. so if we were to land this kid he would be a small forward right? Scout has him ranked as the #4 shooting guard?

NOT a SF (in spite of his size). Will play the 1 or 2 in college. Wants to be a big PG like Penny and Reke. Explain why he likes Memphis?
I heard Pastner say he was getting away pigeonholing players into positions.
I'm confused... We already have the #1 shooting guard Barton and probably JJ. So, where would Jelan fit in?

good question but then we dont know what offense CP will run nor what his substitution pattern will be. I would think that if CP wants him he has uses for him. and remember all of our incomming may not be one and dones.

A player like him you fit in. He likes JJ and likes playing with him. With him JJ and Barton you could have him playing PG or SG. It would give a tremendous amount of options. We've been playing 3 guards for a long time.

The problem with that is we would have 4 5 star guards and 'Spoon on the roster.

THIS

He can play the 1, 2, or 3 but wants to play the 1 or 2. Who ever gets him is getting a special player.
Sounds like good news to me but I'll be sure to have Pastner run it by some of you before he makes the move.
