Hi, Blazer fans, just thought I would pop in and say that it should be a good game on Wednesday. Finally, my cowboys are finally rounding into shape and should be on a roll coming into this game. We are a very young team with only one returning starter and the remainder a very talented group of freshman with a few upperclassmen with limited experience. It should be a very good game.

I would also like to say that you guys have not only a good coach in Mike Anderson, but a good person. While I went to OSU for my undergrad, I went to law school at Tulsa. I actually worked in the athletic department while attending school there and got to know many of the coaches and players as I was around them constantly. Mike was kind of a quite guy, but very friendly. He definitely had the respect of the players and the other coaches. I was reallly hoping that someday he would return to his alma mater and take over the coaching reigns, unfortunately I guess that is not to be. Anyway, good luck to UAB the rest of the season.

How is your pg and your back up pg ?
We have a true freshman Byron Eaton at point, backed by a JC transfer Jamall Brown, who splits his time at point, while occasionally spelling JamesOn Curry at the other guard spot. Eaton is a McDonald's HS AA and he and Brown are very identical physically. (5'10"-11" about 210, very solidly built and muscular) In addition to being a highly recruited BB player, Eaton was in demand as one of the highest ranked HS QB's (option type) coming out of last years class and he had offers from several top football programs.

Both Eaton and Brown have had solid minutes at PG. Eaton, however, is really starting to bloom and has played with tremendous consistency for a freshman. As with any Sutton coached team, neither is going to make a lot of mistakes or give up easy turnovers (or they will find themselves sitting on the bench tootsweet). Eaton has shown the touch with the 3 from time to time and does a good job of providing the assist.

Now that Curry is out of his slump, (and it was a doozy of a slump) we probably have one of the better guard combinations in the conference, if not due some national recognition. Both guys play defense, another Sutton trademark. Having lots of familiarity with Nolan and his "offspring" like Anderson, I know that UAB will put an emphasis on defense as well. Like UAB our players aren't just expected to put some effort in on the offensive side of the court but it demanded of them to put as much effort into the defensive side as well.
I've heard plenty of good things about Ok State fans. I wish I could be sitting somewhere other than the couch watching the game. Best of luck to yall after yall leave Birmingham.
I have mad respect for the OSU fans after watching the game at Iba last season. Loud or quiet when appropriate, smart fans. Good talented team and Eddie Sutton... it's going to be a challenge.

We're coming off of our best game of the season against a very good Old Dominion team. If we play at the level we did on Wednesday, it will be one helluva game.

We need this win. Coach Anderson promised to knock the Christmas off of the kids pretty quickly and get them ready for the game. I can't wait, I'll be there with a box of throat lozenges in my pocket.
