The Nazi's were in bed with the conservative industrialists. The initial Nazi aims were to overthrow the Weimar Republic for selling out to the victors of WWI.

There were American industries in the late 30's who were financing Hitler, mainly because they saw an easy dollar to be made (Ford, GE, Standard Oil), but I don't think German industry was in bed with him by choice.

We have a left of Castro member of congress call dissenters (who she agrees w/the concept) to a socialist idea (gov't run healthcare) Nazis and gets called out by a Marine and the folks come out of their hole to rip the Marine's speech, which is factually accurate.
Seriously? Nazi's were leftists? They may have started that way with their backing of the labor movement, but anyone who isn't short of a full deck of cards know that the Nazi party, facist dictator and all were far to the right.
I think it's wrong of Nancy to call anyone who dissents a Nazi by the way, it's wrong on all sides. This is democracy and debate is part of the process. So is holding them accountable, and elections are only a year away.
What is conjecture? That Hitler was financed by Ford, GE, and Rockefeller helped finance the Nazi's in the 30's? They had nothing to lose, we were neutral. French Ford was credited with arming the German Wehrmacht. Those Ford produced vehicles were used against American soldiers as they landed in France in 1944. For his early recognition of, and timely assistance to, the Nazis, Henry Ford received a Nazi medal in 1938.
Wall Street in general was in bed with Hitler in the 30's. Three Wall Street institutions handled three-quarters of the reparations loans.
I.G. Farben (German company) produced 95 percent of the explosives for the Nazi side in World War II. Four members of it's board were from General Electric.
I find it interesting that you point to that as conjecture (there's tons of historical evidence to back it), but you don't see Steer's point about Nazis being in bed with "conservative industries" in Germany as conjecture.
I know you like to say you're independent and maybe that's the case. But for now all I hear from you is a someone goose stepping to the tune of our fearless leader.
He has his minions, i.e. Pelosi out there implying descenters at at town halls are swastika wearing Nazi's. All this guy did was put it right back on her with his analogy.
Was that historically accurate over the term of Hitler? No. Was it accurate during the early Nazi movement, yet it was.
What the guy is really trying to tell Pelosi is, to listen to the people instead of playing queen bee of the house.

Right that's all you hear, which is why I said earlier that I didn't vote for him and don't think he's the person for the job after eight years of reckless Bush policies cratered our country.
Also, I said this about calling people or insinuating that they are Nazi's, including your penchant to do so if you conveniently forgot. To clarify, she noted that people came wearing nazi armbands, not that they were Nazi's. This calling people that don't agree with you a Nazi is pretty sick and wrong.

Sorry. I guess I was under the impression that adding something like "I (don't) think" to a statement made it something akin to conjecture.
I gave you a history book's worth of information, and the best you can do is to focus on my saying "I think" Steers statement is false?
It's conjecture because I think he's wrong? Dude, that's weak.
Apparently, Steer saying the Nazi's were in bed with "conservative industry" (has yet to explain how he knew they were conservative)..............that's not "conjecture" because HE said it as a matter of fact rather.

"They're carrying swastikas" isn't calling them NAZI's, and she was addressing a direct question as to whether the people carrying those signs were part of a grass roots protest.
These protesters know the process, vote against your representative if you're not happy. THAT is democracy.
What, they're close to being uncivil, that's the issue that I have with them, and their calling the healthcare movement Nazism is a marginalization of the millions of lives ruined by that very movement.
Projecting that Nancy called the protesters Nazis which she didn't, and saying it's a negative connotation when in fact they were carrying the swastika signs and pictures of BHO defaced to resemble Hitler is quite the dichotomy.
A very insincere effort to deflect the attention at that. Nothing new here.
It's spelled "dissent," and if you're going to be a public school teacher, run a web board dedicated to a state uiversity's athletic program, and the voice for all that's "right" in America on this one you need to do it right - before you dis me for being the "Grammar-Spelling police."
