For those that missed it, and yes this was The Daily Show, but Barry O is using the Post Office v. Fed Ex and UPS as an example of how private industry competes against the gubment. Well if the US Postal Service is the best example of the gubment competing against private industry then why would anyone support HR 3200?

Plus in his stammering explanation Obama doesn't exactly come across with as knowing what he is talking about.

Yes, in terms of disfunction, it is not the best run but at the same time you have always recieved your mail haven't you and while not quick service, convenient. It is also true that UPS and Fed Ex are also profitable and doing well. So, the point he was trying to make is that both can succeed as competing entities. As for Obama, he knew what he was talking about, it was that he was trying to find the right words but failed.
.

Oh he stepped into his own doo doo real bad on that one and it is uber-hilarious to watch.

It is like a drowning man trying to grab for that imaginary ladder in the water and it's not there .... 03-lmfao 03-lmfao 03-lmfao 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

Obama's lack of preparation should concern everyone! All the advisors and they should have seen this coming, the best example he can come up with is the Postal Service?!?

I always receive my mail, sometimes late making bill payment late, not quick and not always convenient. Nothing about the Postal Service should reassure anyone that gubment run healthcare is good, infact it should do the opposite.

Quote:The only way the post office can stay in business is its government subsidy. The USPS lost $2.4 billion in the quarter ended in June and projects a net loss of $7 billion in fiscal 2009, outstanding debt of more than $10 billion and a cash shortfall of $1 billion. It was moved to intensive care -- the Government Accountability Office’s list of “high risk” cases - - last month and told to shape up. (It must be the only entity that hasn’t cashed in on TARP!)

Corporations are trashed for failing to make profits, the Obama considers the post office a role model for healthcare, scary stuff.

Uh, no. Someone at my post office, for the second time in as many years, has decided I shouldn't be getting The Weekly Standard.

A couple of years ago, after about 4-6 weeks of not receiving my mag, I called TWS and they had my mag returned as undeliverable. Funny but my mailbox was full of everything else everyday. Now it's been 5 weeks since recieving my subscription again. Time to make a call. If they tell me the same thing happened again, I will be going to my post office and telling them they need to uncover the commie working for them who thinks I shouldn't be getting my weekly magazine that I choose to read.

When some government employee is deciding what I can and can't read, there is a problem.
