As expected. 12 plays over 15 yards. Not sure what went against the 1st team defense, but regardless the defense needs to tighten up - quickly!
Ugh, top 3 tacklers were DBs. Then a LB and a DL to round it out.

Duly noted as I read the stats. Either our offense is lights out, or the defense really stinks... again...

A little birdie told me this afternoon that our defense may be worse than last year.

If that's true, we'll have to score 70+ points a game just to have a chance to win.

Whether we go to a Bowl this year or not is entirely up to the Defense.

If the team were a dragon then the D would be its teeth.

If the team were an infantry division the the D would be the combat engineers.

If the team were a hot fudge sundae then the D would be the thick chewy brownie upon which the whole thing was constructed!
From today's article (Link):

Quote:It may not show up in the overall stats but the defense also made some plays. Most of UAB's offensive damage came from the first offense against the second defense.

The first team defense allowed just a pair of field goal drives against the second offense and the Blazers did recover a pair of fumbles. It was a marked difference from the spring practice scrimmages when the offense ran up and down the field.
The defense is better than last season. Please step away from the ledge folks.
Field goals
Trey Ragland - Made (45, 44, 41) Missed (27)
Josh Zahn - Made (27, 38) Missed (45, 44, 41)

Looks like we have a guy that can kick them long, and a guy that can kick them short. We just don't have a guy that can kick both long and short. Hopefully someone can emerge as a consistent kicker.
I agree with ATTALLABLAZE our defense looks real good this year. Also i would like to point out between the 4 QB's we went 25-41 with 4TD's through the air and 15 of those 25 catches to 15 different people. 294 yards rushing on 37 carries with 1TD that's good stuff. Our offense looks very potent and the great thing about our offense is that Isabelle had good numbers with 1st team and second team offense. Which if Webb were to go down the team morale will be just as high when David comes on the field.
dragonzden, you should probably change your sig. C-USA no long has a connection with the GMAC Bowl.
Maybe he's just dreaming...
