There will always be some players that leave the team or transfer out for whatever reason. Lots of these could be attributed to coaching changes.

Here's what I have so far, mostly from Phil Steele's website. Any help filling in the blanks would be appreciated:

Akron:
QB Jordan Miller - Transfer

Ball State:
SS Derrick Henry - Left the Team

Bowling Green:
RB Eric Ransom - No longer eligible
Rov Aaron Davis - ???
BUCK Anthony Stover - ???

Buffalo:
none

Central Michigan:
DT Josh Allison - Left the Team
CB Taylor Bradley - Academically ineligible

Eastern Michigan:
DE Delano Johnson - ???
LB Darrius Moffett - ???
LB Josh Williams - ???
DE Daniel Cordick - ???

Kent State:
DE Ryan Jude - ???

Miami:
SS Ben Bennett - Suspended
WR Julian Harrell - ???

Northern Illinois:
QB Brandon Rogers - Transfer

Ohio:
none

Temple:
DE Junior Galette - ???
CB Daryl Robinson - ???

Toledo:
QB DJ Lenehan - ???
C Matt Rubin - ???

Western Michigan:
LB Harrison Porter - Transfer
Temple:
DE Junior Galette thrown off team
CB Daryl Robinson thrown off team
CB Jamal Schulters flunked out of school, thrown off team, transferring to Hofstra
WR Dy'Onne Crudup suspended indefinitely

In addition to 8 or 9 of our '09 recruiting class.
Thanks for the info. Seems like your secondary might end up a little thin, but the rest of the defense should be able to mask that.
NIU's Nose Guard Mike Kraus is out for the year with a heart condition.

No one was really counting on Robinson. He's a monumental eff up. Schulters is a big loss because he's our best CB and best return man. We still have a great secondary. Thankfully, we have depth for the first time in years. But yeah, the rest of our D definitely makes up for Schulters.
Buffalo:
OL Ted Carlson - Quit the team
OL Tyler Durinka - Quit the team
DE/LB Matt Jones - Recruit declared academically ineligible, Going to D-2 Gannon U.
LB Dustin Tait - Quit the team
Just as a point of clarification, CMU DT Josh Allison is leaving due to a career-ending injury. He presumably will still be taking advantage of his scholarship at CMU.

Others: DB Chaz West - DNP in 2008 due to a foot injury, now gone due to academics, I'm told.

DB Taylor Bradley - Academics. 03-banghead I'm hearing he is a strong candidate to return in 2010, though.

Fortunately, with all the attrition in our defensive backfield last season, we're returning plenty of experience and should have our best pass defense in years. 04-rock
Porter from Western Michigan is not something new. He was gone in the spring & wasn't around for spring ball.
EMU:

Moffett-wait to see if he enrolls in school. It may be premature to say he won't be at EMU.

Derrick Hunter DB dismissed from team.

Corey Brown RB left team

Josh Williams LB purportly at JUCO in AZ or at Ferris St.

B-Davis OL left a while ago

Purportly Tyler Thomas a RB-DB transferred to Ferris State (div II)

Its not unusual to see players depart when there is a coaching change.

As previously posted on the EMU thread, D Johnson not coming, Kep Goodwin and Steve Sewell both 2009 recruits are not likely coming as well.

That is actually a very small number considering the coaching change. For example, Syracuse lost 16 players.

Syrcause lost more than 16. Unofficial count is 19 players gone. They're essentially an FCS team in terms of players on scholarship.

I was going to make a similar point.

Most schools tend to lose a similar number because of academics, perm. injury, others issues, or just plain tired of the game.

If anything, the English Era has gone smoothly.

I haven't heard of any players transferring saying they don't fit the new staff's style or game plan.

They should have never fired Pasqualoni as the program was entering the new Big East football conference.

Rubin left UT? I don't think he was going to see the field much, if at all. He was the widest human bein I think I've ever seen.
So we've lost a bunch of major contributers, but we gained a major contributer today. RB Eric Reynolds, who was a one-time BC commit and then a Temple commit, who didnt make it to school is here and in practice.

Reynolds is 5'9-5'10 190-195 lbs. and runs a 4.45 40. Offers from BC, UConn, Temple, BG, Toledo, UDel, Villanova.

Big help to our offense.

EDIT: Nevermind, he's playing corner. Still, after losing people in our secondary, he's still a huge addition there, and Schulters was our return man, so I'm sure ERey can fill in for him in the return game :)
CMU fans....did you lose -4- recruits from last years signings class? AKUZUE...Fleming....mainello...MUSE..... Noticed they were NOT on the roster....

I believe they are both grey shirts as well.
