Kansas....they're out of your region and Temple has no league affiliation with them. If you haven't already played at Kansas, I would assume that you will have to to into the hinterland cornfields to play a game. Am I right ??
Kansas would be a typical top 25 team on the schedule.... guess again...

Ok Delaware is one... somewhat odd but its a local team and its in a tournament style early season game.

Hint 3 of the 4 schools on my list did not play in a post season tournament or belong to a major conference.
I'm having a really hard time caring.

My 6 year old plays this game: which one of a set is different. So I do have practice.

I'd say: G'town, Penn, St Johns, Seton Hall, Miami (assuming U. Coral Gables)...all small private schools, while Temple is a behemoth public university.
I know all the talk on this board... its hard to stay awake. When will the MAC be releasing its schedules??? I remember some real top schools coming to MAC arenas this year... minus of course the top team visiting NIU and WMU.
Penn? Because its Ivy League. And BG because they are always out of place?
You guys are terrible guessers

Penn belongs silly little tradition

I don't get the MAC / Temple basketball agreement at all. In football, it makes more sense...in Philly every week there is a MAC game on TV. There's value there. Eastern presence, etc. In return, the MAC gave Temple a conference to play in.

But the basketball thing? Temple fans absolutely hate these games. And the MAC doesn't seem to care, or benefit either. Reading this board reaffirms it - MAC fans don't care about Temple hoops either. So the games don't mean much to anyone. They aren't on TV and they don't draw a better attendance in either Philly or at the MAC school. Last year Temple played a game in Michigan which I was told at most 200 people were there. The announced attendance was 493.

Why play them?

sort of a really bad example about attendance... check the other box scores... owlch... Central Michigan...865... ball state 843... Oakland 389... I think where the help comes in is the RPI... But that just one guys opinion....

OMG... kept checking it gets better to start the spring semester and then the ned of the year 300 and 400 attendance figures...

what do the women draw???

LOL... ok for a ranked team to start the season...132 the rest of the season is N/A...

All Akron ever got out of the agreement was a few easy wins.
this easy win??? 67-65 http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=273302006
...what a breeze

certainly its not football your talking of.

Up by 8 with two minutes left, led for the entire second half. As easy a win as any other game on the schedule.
Now that's just silly ....

For the women unless your playing at Toledo or at BGSU everyone else draws less than a 1000 people.
If you're so mad about the agreement then get out of the conference. You're complaining because you scheduled a bunch of mediocre teams that are outside the Mid-Atlantic region? What a travesty. Go ahead, get Princeton, Army, etc. back on the bball schedule and get out
grrrrrrrrr woof!!!

Its just a simple observation. While Temple is a fit in the MAC for football it certainly is not a fit for basketball. While these aren't favors by any means its just obvious that these games are out of place.
Just a side note, I may have to make a trip to Broad St. to see my hometown Saints take on the Owls.
Sorry, VE. I had the correct answer- Penn and BG. MAC teams, BG excepted, are never out of place.
Miami fans definitely appreciate the chance to have a home and home with Temple hoops, that is the type of opponent we are always trying to schedule. Our home nonleague schedule this year is pretty solid: only 5 home games, but they are UD (NCAA), Temple (NCAA), Wright State (three 20 win seasons in a row), Evansville (winning season in a good league last year), and a bracket buster game. If our young team can knock off Temple again, we will have a 3-1 record vs Temple over the last 10 years.
