Hey guys my name is Sam, I'm a Houston fan and I'll lurk every now and then over here. I write a blog with two of my best friends called Scott & Holman (which I'm sure many of you have seen self-promoted on the main CUSA board).

One of our projects during this long, hot and boring summer is to preview and rank all Division 1-FBS football teams. The three of us grew tired of seeing "well respected" sources do a terrible job previewing teams outside of the BcS.

UAB was among the 3 teams we looked at in our most recent "Getting to know" post. So here it is:

Getting to know the '09 UAB Football Team

Let me know what you think (positive or negative) and if we screwed anything up. Thanks guys and good luck this coming Fall... Callaway seems to be a much better coach than Brown.
although you'll probably get some argument around here about the predicted win total, it seemed pretty fair overall
I believe Webb played some WR in high school, but overall a fair assessment coming from a non-UAB fan (I predicted to go undefeated 03-thumbsup)
Appreciate it guys.

I think the increased competitiveness can't be overlooked.

Plus I'm sure there'll be a couple teams that overlook the Blazers...

"Police blotter" isn't accurate. "Mired in mediocrity on the field and in the classroom" would be closer to capturing the zeroness.

It's = it is.

I found it pretty accurate, except for one thing. McCants wasn't a true "frosh" when he started those 7 games in '07.

Overall, good job!
Overall fair.

I predict 6 wins but I can't really argue with it.

Yeah, actually, he was.

Thanks. I typically try to avoid the "true frosh" label unless I'm absolutely certain the guy played right out of high school. I remember the story of McCants being a HS tuba player and having pretty limited football experience... it's a cool story. I hope he's got his academic house in order.
