What are (were) your top 5 favorite players to ever play at ETSU? These are the ones that you really looked forward to seeing play. The ones you cursed under your breath (or maybe out loud) when they put up a bad shot. The ones you knew gave it their all. I know there are different generations of posters/fans on here, but here are mine:

1. Mister
2. Calvin Talford
3. Tim Smith
4. Courtney Pigram
5. Marty Story
I have only been following since about 1998, but here are my favs since then.

1. Dimeco Childress
2. Zakee Wadood
3. Tim Smith
4. Tiras Wade
5. James Anthony
1. Charles Thaxton
2. Mr. Jennings
3. Greg Jennings
4. Troy Lee Michael
5. Calvin Talford
Granted my ETSU experience is fairly limited but in no particular order

1.Dillion Sneed
2.Courtney Pigram
3.Erik Thomas
4.Kevin Tiggs
5.Zakee Wadood
I've only been here since '02, but my five would be:
1. Tim Smith
2. Zakee Wadood
3. Ben Rhoda
4. Andrew Reed
5. Tommy Hubbard

*Notwithstanding Tim Smith and Zakee Wadood, I am a big fan of the 'glue' guys!!

Here are my "Hall of Shame" picks:
1. Chris 'Slip' Mitchell
2. Dequan Twilley--I loved him as a pg, but he just couldn't keep his head on straight.
3. Blake Mishler
4. Greg Surmacz
5. Tiras Wade--Had perhaps more NBA potential that anyone we've had in the last 6 years.
1. Mister - is there anyone you would rather have the ball in their hands?
2. Troy Lee Mikell - incredible athlete
3. Calvin Talford
4. Greg Dennis
5. Rodney English - I loved his game

Skeeter Swift - left him off the list because I was too young to see him in college, but did get to play with him in some pick up games. He was an "old" man, but boy could he play.
1. Mister Jennings
2. Calvin Talford
3. Troy Lee Mikell
4. Harley "Skeeter" Swift
5. Tommy Woods

How could you leave off the great Petras Balocka from that list of shame
In no particular order:

Skeeter Swift
Mister Jennings
Troy Lee Mikell
Tom Chilton
Calvin Talford

Second tier would include
Tommy Woods
Winfred King
Zakee Wadood
Meco Childress
Kenyona Swader (probably 2nd only to Talford as the most versatile player ever at ETSU)
Tim Smith
Greg Dennis
Sorry, five is not enough, I have to name at least 10. These are not in any order.

1. Mister Jenning
2. Calvin Talford
3. Tom Chilton
4. Ben Rhoda
5. Troy Lee Michael
6. Tom Chilton
7. Zakee Wadood
8. Tommy Woods
9. Gerald Fields
10. Skeeter Swift

Goldfinger

1. Keith Mister Jennings
2. Calvin Talford
3. Rodney English
4. Greg Dennis
5. Marty Story

I realize they are all from the same team but that's just the way it is.

A second five would be...

1. Timmy Smith
2. Major Geer
3. Alvin West
4. Zakee wadood
5. Trazel Silvers
Marty Story
Zakee Wadood
Mike Smith
Mister Jennings
Winfred Reid (later my Junior High coach)

It is very difficult to keep it to 5.
tiggs
pigrim
smith
wadood
fields
In no particular order

Winfred King (yes I know he only played a semester)
Calvin Talford
Mister Jennings
Tim Smith (even though he defined "loose cannon")
Zakee Wadood

2nd tier
Troy Lee
Courtney Pigram
Kevin Tiggs
Marty Story
Rodney English
and I have to add Ben Rhoda
Any position? As in I could have five forwards, guards, etc...
1. Talford
2. Major
3. Mister
4. Zakee
5. Jerald.

Second five
1. Dennis
2. Sneed
3. Tim Smith
4. Tiggs
5. Pigram

It's really difficult to pick just five, leaving off Rhoda, Marty Story, English (as a player), Wade, Childress, Sam Oatman (not so much for his play but his heart), Andrew Reed...

I agree totally with above posters Hall of Shame, and a question to ask here, would Tiras Wade qualify for both lists?
I just do not see how anyone can put Pigram on this list. He was .398 career shooting. And the worst shooting percentage of the entire team this year.

1. Mister
2. Calvin
3. Tiggs
4. Zakee
5. Rhoda/English
Probably blasphemy to not put Mister #1, but I guess it depends on what you like to see...

1 - Zakee
2 - Calvin
3 - Mister
4 - Tiggs
5 - Timmy
1.Mister
2.Calvin
3.Dennis
4.King
5.Wadood

Then add these guys
6.Chilton
7.Tiggs
8.Pigram
9.Troy Lee
10.Fields
11.Swift
12.Tim Smith

Tried to mix in a combination of speed, size and scoring that reflects our history as well.

Imagine taking that 12 to the NCAA !

Hard to leave off a bunch of great players. The next 12 would be pretty darn good too.
It would be hard to list 5.. but I have seen all the ETSU players since the early 1960's.. Mister is by far the best!!! I must add that I never got to see Tom Chilton play.
Favorite players, hmmm. I must admit to being partial to players who simply became memorable or great out of a constant work ethic and effort. Guys like Chad Keller, Ben Rhoda, Winfred King, Troy Lee Mikel, Zakee Wadood, Jerald Fields, and even now Mike Smith really make me proud to be a Buc. I would add that guys like Jerry Pelphrey, Major, Marty and Alvin West were favorites as well.

I wanted to mention some of those players that I remember only because I think it's obvious that players like Mister, Greg Dennis, Tim Smith, CP and Tiggs have been great in ways that make them constants on any list.
