I drove my wife’s SUV to pick up the pizza for dinner-- it was blocking me in . The radio is on and what do I hear for 60 seconds while driving down the road? Some radio host named Delilah playing a “love song dedication” for some woman who divorced her husband six years ago, but stayed living with him in the same house for the sake of the kids. And it didn’t work out, he got drunk and beat her up and now she needs strength to leave again. So Delilah plays her a song—Carole King’s “It’s Too Late” and I literally want to hurl all over the dash board.

So I pick up the pizza and get back and I ask my wife, what is this “Delilah” crap that you are listening to on the radio? It turns out that she plays “sappy love songs and dedications at night for women” My wife tells me she is “nationally syndicated” and I am shocked.. who would nationally syndicate 4 hours of “Lifetime Radio for Battered Women” ?

So I do some research. She is syndicated by Premier Radio Networks—which is 40% owned by Limbaugh and which also produces Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. Another funny fact, since May, Left Wing Loon Randi Rhodes (formerly of Air America) is also syndicated by Premier. Randi Rhodes now works for Rush Limbaugh—something that must make her ulcers bleed at night.

Well anyway, since I listen to AM Talk Radio, Sports Radio, or Classic Rock Satellite Radio, I don't usually have the occasion to listen to garbage like Delilah. But you know, listening to her broadcast could easily make my head explode.

Sounds like you listened to much more than you should of. I would have deep sixed that station after the first sign some one was trying to jerk a tear out of me.

I should of. Also just to to get a rile out of my wife I could have set the radio on some getto rap station with the volume up so she gets a surprise in the morning. But Naaaah...

Better yet cut the antenna wire.

When I had to work Extra Details many moons ago, they were almost always late night gigs.

Well you get to know the AM Late Night Moon Pie Circuit Pretty Well and the same goes for the Lower End of the FM Dial where all the NPR Affiliates are at.

You do get some really tripped out stuff flying around Mid-Night to 5am.

It was good enough stuff to keep you awake all night long ....

And I have listened to Delilah many a night playing heart wrenching songs to poor people who have lost a Child or a Spouse or maybe a Parent or Grandparent - - she does Boyfriend/Girlfriend break-ups and sometimes she would do a long distance request to a Soldier from their family.

The worst ones were to Dying People .... oh man the woman would read off some long tear jerking letter and then play just the right song to have you snotting all over the place ... LOL.

It was cool when it is 2am and the night is uber-boring ....

Coast-To-Coast with Art Bell was the best though (1200 WOAI San Antonio) ... TWO THUMBS UP for Art Bell !!!!!!!

Art Bell is amusing. I really enjoy listening to his interviews with people who are claiming that they are Extra-Terrestrial Ambassadors from some planet in the Constellation of Vega

Bell is retired. He was replaced by George Noory, another kook.

I am not sure .... I know they found him listed in the Area-51 Phone Registry, but they deny him ever being assigned there.

And the one where this Private Pilot was invading Area-51's air space and supposedly got shot down live on the Art Bell show .....

Who knows, this stuff is just so far out there that it is plausible that some of it is real .... the more they make people seem like crazies, the better the Disinformation Campaign is going.

He does have his share of top notch scientist and researchers as regulars as well .... I mean we live in a strange and weird universe filled with everything unknown after all.

Yeah, I've heard this when I'm travelling in Columbus and I don't have the rental car radio buttons programmed. Very annoying. I'm sure the response is that it's a women's thing...but it's more like a "girl's" thing. Grow up.
