i guess i do not have a favorite CFL team now.
Maybe he will give the UFL a try this fall.
That was a short run for him. I hate to see him not playing somewhere.
He could always come back to Birmingham and back up Rodney Bivens for the Wildfire.
Wow. That was fast.
He just does not have the accuracy teams look for with his new overhand throwing style.
Great, now the next time anyone from UAB gets tired of Favre acting like a b*tch they will quickly bring up Hackney being released from the CFL after about a day. Not that it changes the fact that Favre acts like a b*tch or anything.
Just ask about Hack's contemporary, Dustin Almond. I think he rotated my tires last go 'round.
Well, that sucks big time.
Hate to say it , but some of his problem goes back to his time at UAB. Because he was very talented and could dominate in CUSA, we did not insist he develop the footwork and general mechanics that would make him a marketable commodity. His fundamentals need to be great to overcome the perceived issue of height. Also at the next level physicality isn't what matters and little things make a difference in success or failure

not to mention our offense would disappear at times because he wold get out of synch fundamentally, get under pressure and start throwing the ball with Mike Vicks accuracy.
Any injuries for him that might have had an impact on him getting cut as well?

Not just wondering about injury but also does anyone have current lnowledge of his physical conditioning and emotional state-of-mind? The denver experience coupled with the way he left, not even getting the "cup of coffee" time with the Saints and then quick cut by the BBs, may have done a number on him.

Almost word-for-word the talk on Pat Sullivan when the Falcons cut him long long ago.
Well hopefully this is not it for D-Hack, but he's spent a couple of years as a 3rd stringer in the NFL, he hopefully has been wise with his money. Even if that's all he gets, that's still a hell of an opportunity, and he should have plenty of bank for someone in his mid-20s.

Speaking of Sullivan, as a coach, he could take a tomato can like Jeff Burger and make an all-conference QB out of him. Where the hell does Watson get the hubris to think he's more qualified to coach QBs than the guy with the Heisman?

My apologies.

I try to keep my Watson rants to a minimum in the year 3 AZ, but damn, all those missed opportunities...03-weeping

Watson was actually a more fundamentally sound quarterback then Sully, who learned that terrible long-stride throwing motion at John Carroll that made him even shorter. But the Burger example shows that we often know our own weaknesses best. A Sully-coached Hackney ...
