So, how do you see it playing out?
Final four games are:
at Memphis
UCF
at UTEP
at East Carolina
We win the next two and then choke on the road with a bowl game on the line. Same scenario that has played out before...5 wins going into the last two games of the season, both being on the road.

+1
I don't think we have the proverbial snowball's chance in hell of going bowling at this point. I think we lose to UCF and UTEP, have a decent chance at Memphis, and beat East Carolina.

I never thought that we would go 10-1 as some did, but I really did think that 8-3 was a very reasonable expectation. Preseason, my line was that anything less than 8 wins would be a disappointment given the team we had.

Prepare to be disappointed.

I also said that we had come far enough that there were finally expectations of the coaching staff, and that if we went in the dumper they would take a lot of heat. Anyone have one of those big gas boilers the UNO guys were making jambalaya in? 05-mafia
What is it that some you guys aren't seeing? Is it not clear that Watson has lost complete control of this team and Bolt is in the same boat with his defense. Hackney looked totally depressed on the bench even after throwing TD after TD after TD. Why? He knew that the defense would not be able to stop USM offense.

This team will not win another game this season. I guarantee it!

Go UAB!
This is Smaug and I submit this generic prediction that may be applied to any remaining games on our 2005 schedule.

Darrell Hackney will light up ___________, but UAB will still lose. 03-banghead
This team and staff has given up. Hackney can say all he wants, he is the only one speaking out.
UAB will finish 3-8.
Unbelieveable.
UAB shocks Memphis in Liberty Bowl 33-14 to go 4-4; comes home and claws out a 62-48 victory over UCF (5-5); goes to ElPaso and plays its heart out, losing 31-35. With the last C-USA bowl on the line, UAB goes to Greenville and defeats ECU 55-52 to earn a return bid to the Hawaii Bowl.

There they play the Central Michigan Chippewas, Native American Persons, Chipmunks (?) losing 34-47.

Lighten up folks. It is truly just a game. Don't let your life's happiness depend on it. I grew up almost within sight of the Tulane campus and have been a Green Wave fan all my life. I was a grown man and I cried when we beat LSU in 1973 after losing 25 years in a row to them. We have a decent season or two about every 5-7years and we have had a couple of bright, shining years in all my life as a fan. (Thanks, Coach Bowden.) But that's my team--with all the losses and disappointments--and that occasional victory over the Blazers. : )

Support your team and enjoy the tailgates with your friends. Tulane has not had a true home game this year. If you UAB folks get too divided and contentious, there may come a year when you have no games--home or otherwise--to whine about.

I think there are some very good reasons for the BOT to shut down UAB football. I don't think they hate UAB like you folks claim--but I have no doubt that they would shut you down in a heartbeat if crowds and revenues drop again. There truly exists that proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back."
I think Darrell will have quite a say in how our season finishes. Really do you think Watson will pull him out for not running the offensive plays Watson calls if he continues to play like he did Friday night?

29-42 - 1 for 407 and 3 tds with the 1 having gone straight thru Corey's hands.

As BlazerDon asked Friday night, "How much money is Watson costing Darrell by playing Watsonball for the 1st 20 minutes of every game?"
I don't think Darrell Hackney has anything to worry about regarding CWB's play calling. The NFL scouts are well aware of Hackney and that is all that matters. He will prove himself at the NFL tryouts/combines.

I agree. In fact, Hackney's success in spite of CWB's absolute incompetence may raise his stock.

Well, maybe not "absolute incompetence". He has beaten Memphis six consecutive times. He may just have saved his job tonight. Maybe Coach Bolt's as well. (I'll bet the AD is pleased.) Cheerio!
