Hope you guys never experience this event. Earthquakes are a little freakly, everything sways like a palm tree, and if you don't have the building foundation suitable for these tremors like I just experienced you're in bad shape.

Had so many I don't even get rattled, but I'll take tornadoes before earthquakes because you can see them coming. Whewww!
what did it register
Yeah, that was a long one too. Those 10 to 15 seconds felt like a lifetime.

Yeah exactly, they don't usually shake rattle and roll that long, most times half that amount of time. I know most who haven't experienced it might think, ahhh 10seconds is nothing, but every second feels like 5mins.

Feels like an eternity. Hey maybe some of USC's recruits may what to rethink there decision to attend a school where this madness goes on. Anyone think Paster is on the prowl now. LOL! Beware of the Memphis Machine babe. 04-rock
I'll take the earthquake, especially 5.0.
I was IM with a friend in San Diego when it happened....he said it just stirred his drink for him
What happened? Did Paris Hilton throw a temper tantrum?
Did Yao fall over after the loss?

No, I think it was the basketball Gods rather, upset that Joey Dorsey didn't get to play in their last game of the season at the Staples Center.

Paris wouldn't know, she lives in Bedrock anyway, so she wouldn't realize it.

Absolutely! E

Even if you see a tornado coming, it sure doesn't mean you or your home are any safer!
I was talking to a friend of mine in Facebook IM when it hit, I thought he was joking, He said it felt like a giant shook his house. You guys out there in CA can have em!
I was in an 8.0 when I was living in Japan... It was a little offshore, but was still impossible to stand up during it. That was fun stuff.
I lived in L.A. during the Northridge earthquake right at the 405 and the 10. It was loud, scary (couldn't walk to get our newborn baby) and the aftershocks went on for weeks! Some of the aftershocks were as bad as the actual earthquake. I will take a hurricane or tornado over an bad earthquake any day of the week.

I thought you were kidding in your PM. I see the news now.
I hope Memphis never experiences an earthquake. Not only because of the damage it will create but because they'll never shut the hell up about it. We're still talking about the '94 ice storm. Can you image an earthquake?

So, was I! I completely freaked out! You are so right about the aftershocks. They were horrible. I called my parents every time one hit. Our phone bill was HILARIOUS! 04-jawdrop
I was in LA a couple of weeks ago. There was a short 4.4 one that was centered right where I was staying. The funniest thing was that the hotel that I was staying in had a outside wedding going on at the same time. Right after the earthquake was lightning which was also during the wedding. I hope the couple didn't believe in bad omens.
