Someone mentioned it in another thread and I agree its one of those "Careful What You Wish For" type of situations but if it would help stop this obvious crap that is going on with WWW and making deals with schools for recruits basically, it would help clean up the sport.

Of course a majority of the investigation would be focused on his time with KFC at Memphis among other things but if the NCAA were strong enough to bring an investigation that could help take him out of the picture in regards to recruiting I am all for it.

But who knows what would be discovered, an investigation into WWW could literally flip over a rock that covers a hole to hell for the Memphis basketball program.
Look, we all knew what was going when Cal was here. We loved WWW when he was bringing us recruits but now Cal is at UK. He's their problem now and when Cal leaves they will be dealing with the same crap we are.
Waste of time. Get ovet it.
an investigation into WWW could put us on probation, I agree get over it.
1) KFC is my favorite alternative name for Cal... not even a close second.

2) If KFC/WWW were to get busted USC-style, the best case scenario would have Memphis being looked at in a poor light.

Cal is gone. Can't wait for the Pastner era to tip-off.
Good use of the subjunctive case in the title.

I can't until the season has started.

He cant get over us.

I really hope someday someone stops this influencing/illegal money crap that WWW is involved in.

Agree 100%. While Cal was here, we gladly looked the other way. Besides, we were not the only beneficiaries of WWW.

Let's get past it and go forward with Josh. I promise we will be at the same level a lot quicker than most, including some on this board, give us credit for.
It's not just WWW.

If college coaches wouldn't cheat, there would be no cheating.
THE END .

It's a multi Million dollar business! It'll never be totally clean. Any lawyer will tell you that every law has a loophole, and as long as people can benifit from using the loophole, they will.

Because WWW isn't licensed as an agent, isn't a booster for any university, and cant legally be linked to any businesses or universities, he can do what he pleases!

Investigating that wouldn't help solve the problem, but it would hurt our university. 05-stirthepot

...what he said.
If people weren't people, there would be no cheating.
What WWW does is shady but its not technically cheating is it? There's no rule that says he cant do what he does.

With the recent addition of an NCAA Ethics Commission, among other efforts to raise (that's not 'raze') integrity issues, we'll probably find out, sooner than later. Grey areas change both in hue and dimension when light is presented.
If the NBA just paid for its own farm system, perhaps these collegiate money grubbing scams might slow down.

Student athlete has become a deceptive, and in many cases, a meaningless description for collegiate basketball players.

Kind of like Obama has decreed a new name for the war on terrorism. What's in a name?

1) WWW is not cheating

2) Our Former Coach was not cheating

3) Our current coach is not cheating

4) There is no good for us that can come from any "investigation"
Its the nature of the business these days.

Can't argue with that. But, it is still becoming more and more distasteful.
Looked the other way?
I just thought x was a good recruiter.

I knew nothing of www until recently.
