Just read the article. I'm pretty pumped. I heard this rumor two weeks ago and didn't know if it had any merit. I think this will be a positive for the Camels and hopefully set in place the eventual transition to scholarship football.
Good bye A-Sun!!!!
Best move they have made in a long time. The Sunday policy is a joke because it was never enforced. It was always okay to travel and practise on Sunday's but not play games.
Congrats. I can only hope we are next.
im not so sure the Big South folks are happy about it. They are still a little upset about our leaving in 94. They really want us for football. well join BSC in football also in a few yrs. I think we can contribute to the BSC. Cant wait!
I think it is a good move for us. Travel wise those schools in the Big South are closer. I am surprised that the Big South is taking us back after the quick manner in which we exited in the mid-90's. I would expect this move will eventually lead to us making football scholarship. I don't have any facts or anything but this move would seem to naturally lead to that one down the road.
This is great news from a publicity/exposure perspective. Campbell will get more media coverage in Charlotte and the Triad. The Charlotte Observer and Greensboro News & Record always shows the Big South standings and covers local Big South teams well, while CU only gets a short, edited paragraph from an AP story due to playing distant schools. The Camels will get a few seconds on the 11 o'clock news in other parts of the state.....something that's been missing in the past decade.

From a fan's perspective, we'll have a lot more fun in the Big South. Our history with the Big South - both, during our membership years and the breakup - will make competition more interesting and meaningful. We had great rivalries with Radford and Coastal. Games with Gardner-Webb will resume again and I think High Point will become a good rivalry.

We will be able to actually travel to away games again!! And, the biggest difference I witnessed (as a fan) between the Big South and the TAAC/A-Sun was the basketball tournaments. The close proximity of the Big South schools made it easier on fans, which means great attendance. Fans will finally be able to experience and enjoy the post-season again. No more spending the time and money driving all day to a destination like Nashville to watch a two hour game that we might lose.

A negative: Way too many ads on http://www.bigsouthsports.com!
This is great. I am looking forward to it.
Glad to hear you guys are escaping to greener pastures!

Hasn't there been some speculation that this was going to happen for a couple years now?

Or am I thinking about something else?
For the first time since I've listen to it, 99.9 The Fan mentioned CU.

This is a great move!
This is bigger than getting football.

The best news out of the Creek in the past 10 years involving athletics.
I agree. Now, let our football program mature for a few years. im sure its in the plan over the course of the next 5 yrs or so to transition in to the BSC for football. 2 years of that will still be in ASUN anyway. If the BSC fans can just be patient with us, well be there shortly. Looking forward to having Coastal, GW and the likes at Barker Lane.

I agree. Great move.
Still pumped about this.

This should be the springboard that our athletics have needed. Games fans can actually get to, improved press coverage (at least we will be playing teams that are covered locally), recruiting has to prosper, and a financial savings for all programs travel budgets.

This also places our football in a new light (as mentioned in a post above).
I credit this all to Billy Pope Fan. Good Job!

BILLY POPE FAN FOR AD!
I guess this means we will no longer be on this Board.
I wouldn't be too excited...you guys couldn't run it in the ASun, I expect the same in the Big South.
