I was planning to go there this weekend only to realize they've closed their doors, this sucks. What a year, even here Memphis is getting shafted.
JANE'S HOUSE REPLACES MEMPHIS
Located in the spot that used to house Southern-style restaurant Memphis (within the courtyard behind La Cantina), Jane’s House still has a Victorian look, complete with a large front porch and a green and brown color scheme inside.

Why did you post this in the recruiting forum? Seriously.

Really, I'm in a hurry this morning checking recruiting updates and click on a story about a food joint?

From everything I read about the place, you didn't miss much. I was gonna check it out about three years ago just based on the name alone.
I checked out their menu and read a few reviews, and I got the impression that the food was more creole inspired. Lots of spicy seafood dishes. Plus everything was ridiculously overpriced.
And all the descriptions of the decor in the reviews I read made it sound more like a New Orleans themed restaurant. After reading the reviews and looking at the expensive menu, I opted out of going there for my birthday.
I still don't regret my decision. Any time I want a Memphis themed meal, I'll just toss some ribs on the smoker, mix up some sweet tea, and throw a little R.L. Burnside on the stereo.
