Obviously, I would attempt to recruit quality players who could compete and defeat the Westerns and USA's. From a coaching standpoint, I would continue to stress conditioning and defense. Steve has done a great job in that area in the past.

The one area that I would change would be to simplify the offense. Less structure. We're not Denver or Belmont, and the players we recruit are not well suited to a structured offense. Give them a few simple rules that allow them to play without having to think of where to go on every play. And encourage more shooting earlier in the shot clock.
If you take a few bad shots, as long as it's not at the end of the game with the game on the line, so what. If you don't shoot, you don't have a chance to score. My objective would be to score a minimum of 70 points a game.

And that would help in the first area. Recruiting. Kids today don't grow up playing "grinder ball". They run and shoot. Just teach them defense, and let the offense take care of itself. If you recruit the right players, it will. 01-lauramac2

Do we have a structured offense? I must have missed it. I have never seen us run our offense with precision, the way Belmont did and Denver is moving toward. I think that would be MY biggest complaint- I'm never exactly sure what we are trying to do on offense.
