=>Rankings do not include "University" suffix or "University of" prefix or the "State University of" prefix or the like:

1. BOWLING GREEN STATE (17)
2. NORTHERN ILLINOIS (16)
3. CENTRAL MICHIGAN (15)
-- EASTERN MICHIGAN (15)*
-- WESTERN MICHIGAN (15)
6. BALL STATE (9)^
-- KENT STATE (9)
8. BUFFALO (7)
9. TOLEDO (6)
10. MIAMI (5)
-- AKRON (5)
-- OHIO U. (5)#

* EMU's plans to rename the school to "Eastern Michigan State and Technical College - Ypsilanti" in order to take a commanding lead in these rankings in 2010.

^ Testicle Tech, which includes 12 letters, could also be used but would not change the Cardinals place in the rankings.

# Bobcats fans believe that it should be 6 letters for "Ohio U.", but a period (.) is a character, but not a letter so Ohio U. is stuck at 5.

Actually, it should only be OHIO so we're really in last place. 03-hissyfit 03-lmfao

OU would be better. That would solidify the Bobcats' rightful hold on last place forever.

You're right. That was cold. Sorry.
I strongly disagree with the premise of this thread. Very juvenile.

The rankings are considered without any mention of the school colors or relative strengh of the mascots. Anybody can count letters.

i don't know about anybody. i'm sure there are more than a few Miami grads who can only wish they could count letters. 03-lmfao
I challenge these rankings on the basis that NIU was once called Northern Illinois State Normal School, thus clearly making NISNS #1.

Miami of Ohio should be in the middle of the pack.

Not exactly sure how they came up with the name. I guess they didn't want to just call it the Illinois Teachers College in DeKalb.

Well, you can always go with "Flagship U.". THat would move you up significantly.

=>Thus why they changed the name, it was misleading!
