I came here tonight mad and shocked like all of you probably were. I'm not thrilled with our coaches and some of our players right now, like most of you I suspect. I have some negative things that I was going to say about them, until I saw the posts from some of you threatening to cut off your donations, or threatening to never come back, or dogging the program saying it will always suck under WB. Some of you are mad and you want to insult WB and Bolt and call for their heads. That's fine - do what you must.
However, if in the process you belittle the program or ask for support in sabotaging the program, then you are showing yourself to be disloyal and a coward.
Wake up and understand that you can't control the coach at UAB! If you hate him, then tough luck, buddy. If you want him fired, then try to get him fired. But those who are actually interested in helping the program shouldn't waste their time with that. Your job is not to decide whether we should fire a coach. Your job as a fan is to support the team in any way you can. Come to the games, win or lose. If not, watch them on TV, win or lose. Buy UAB gear. Buy tickets. Donate. Do whatever you can to help.
If you want to criticize the coaches, that's no problem- I was coming here tonight to do it myself. However, if you want to rally support for ruining the program, then I'll acknowledge your right to do that, and you can acknowledge my right to criticize you for it. YOU'RE NOT HELPING!
Be a part of the long-term solution by doing things within your power to help UAB Athletics. Don't create a new problem.
