...and Mike Davis appears from behind the great curtain revealing himself to not be the Wonderful Wizard of Oz at all, but just a munchkin with delusions of grandeur.

After all the big talk, sweet 16, top 10 recruiting classes and all, we are left with nothing but a delusional ego, our own Larry Langford on the UAB campus dreaming of beluga whales that will never come. (under his leadership)
Am I the only one who clicked on this thinking it was referencing something on the Memphis board?

But Larry has us runnin with the "In Crowd" on the Olympics. We will have the most treacherous bobsled run ever, down Red Mountain, through 5 points and turning left onto University, ending in the pool at the new UAB gym.
Good lord I can't even see the horse anymore

Me too. I was excited. I thought I had missed the thread where empty.org talked about UAB basketball greatness.

the transformation is complete. The word empty now equals memphistigers.org.
Damn, I thought it was too!.

As a Memphis supporter in Huntsville (graduated Memphis in 1982), I wish UAB, Tulsa, UTEP, and Houston would upgrade their programs so we could have a competitive conference and one that would get some national recognition. We need at least 2, preferably 3 teams, in the top 25 and getting NCAA bids. I always pull for all Conf USA teams when they play outside the conference - obviously, I want Memphis to beat everyone else, but I consider it a win for the conference if another one of us beats a top 25 team or lands a good recruit. Although Memphis will not be as good this year, I still believe they can be in the top 25 and get a NCAA bid.

Good luck Blazers!
