I just paid off a bet for this crap.
I was told on Jan 3 2009 that Cal was going to Kentucky By a Texas Booster.
I told him at the time that there was no way, we would match anybody. He informed me that it was a done deal and to be a matter of fact about it he told me Cal could not turn them down and trust me it was NOT because that was his dream job. I am putting together a time line of events that I watch played out before our eye's and will post on here once I am sure I have the FACTS right. If I am right we will be very glad a certain recruit has gone to Kentucky with him.

And just to save some post it WANT be US on probation it WILL be Kentucky
What?? What are you saying?? I just hope WE don't end up with NCAA sanctions...

My gosh, let it go. Cal wasn't even their first choice. Lets let the paranoid conspiracy theories die with the coaching search. Our reality isn't so bad and a lot more worthwhile.

Slim(at least I think it was you-too many threads over the past week or so to remember correctly)posted something cryptic about Cal not really having an option to turn them down either. If it wasn't you then this is really creepy. Since you said a certain recruit has already gone to Kentucky it must be Cousins b/c he's the only one who has already "gone" to Kentucky. The others haven't done so yet. Interesting keep up posted. Could this have something to do with Mack's blessing in disguise comment? On the other hand: If something is coming down and a booster in Texas knows about it how come nobody else does? and why would Kentucky hire him if something shady was going on? I know, I know wait till you have the facts

No not him and maybe I am wrong about the recruit but I thought I was told today he had committed to Kentucky
Its the only one that Cal recruited by himself
Cousins... Cal considered Cousins his "baby"

Thank you! Some of these have gotten rediculous. I am waiting for one that says Elvis was really poisoned because he knew in 1977 that Cal would leave for Kentucky. Look we all knew how Cal was and turned a blind eye to it because he won for us. He is a sorry person and our program deserved better. We now have a class coach our program deserves.

So much information out there now it could have been somebody else too. Was it you that posted some information regarding Cal "having" to take this job a couple of days ago or was it somebody else? Thanks for the info.
I told you guys he was on to something

It was me but I removed it. I wanted to settle down and make sure I was doing the right thing

Yep, now I remember I was in the middle of reading it when it went missing. let us know when/if you feel comfortable stating it.
Interesting. Just don't let Louisville fans see it. They've been calling for Cal's head for years and they might go off the deep end with this one...lol.
I HATE to feed the paranoia, but for reference Dennis is from Texas, and it was reported today that he wants a release to follow Cal. This is just for informational purposes only.

For the record, I don't think there is a conspiracy, or that Cal cheated, or that he is an Illuminati.
"Cal wasn't even their first choice."

Are you sure? I didn't hear anythng about a contract offer?

Hey just wait, that bunch of redneck inbred hillbilly's think they have got over on us. lets see who has the last laugh.
I have some theories but they may seem a little far fetched. I have wondered what would happen if the basketball gods(let's call them "Crikey") were unhappy that a very marketable star had come through Memphis. Did the lack of TV coverage hurt their bottom line somehow in the early going? Would they be happy if more really marketable stars like X and John Wall came through Memphis, or would they rather have them at a big BCS school where instead of shunned by the masses they would be stars and would hit the NBA as household names instead of like Rose might have been thought of, "that memphis point guard that was really good." A lot of people didn't know much about him until the tournament. All of this shoe company madness seems to be like some crazy search for the next Michael Jordan. If they think John Wall might be it, they might pull a lot of strings to get him into a situation where he gets as much exposure as possible. I posted in another thread that I don't think Wall has a choice at this point. Again, just a crazy theory.
I think they wanted THAT COACH before they fired Gillespie. It was a given THAT COACH knew he was leaving memphis but he had planned for months to go to Arizona. Then the rumblings about the kentucky job made THAT COACH see a new light.
