Putnam City’s Xaver Henry received his release from Memphis on Tuesday, granting other schools the chance to talk to the standout recruit.

But Henry’s father, Carl Henry, didn’t rule out the possibility that Henry could stick with his original signing and go to Memphis.

“I’d still say it’s between those three schools — Kansas, Kentucky and Memphis,” Carl Henry said.

Well... good for MEMPHIS, at least they're not being bitter (in public) about granting him his release. If he doesn't want to be here then fine. We'll move on.

MEMPHIS WILL BE HERE REGARDLESS OF WHO'S COACHING OR PLAYING!!!
What is interesting is that there are 3 top flight programs looking for a blue chip 2G:

- Memphis
- UK
- Kansas

And there are three top flight 2Gs available:

- XHenry
- LStephenson
- NDennis

How about we all get one?
CJ and who is hired as the assistants are the keys to whether or not X is a Tiger, IMO.
An OK newspaper reported this & you posted it. What if it's NOT true??? Then what ???

How about we keep both of our top flight 2Gs, Kansas gets the guy who was about to commit to them, and Kentucky gets nothing?

That is also an acceptable result...

I am fine with this, I really just want X or Lance at KU and don't care which, and I would prefer that UK doesn't get anyone out of this whole thing.
Who is Xavier? I thought it was Zahveeaye Henry. 05-stirthepot

Man, Kansas and Memphis allies on an issue... It's a new day, ain't it?
I would rather see Mario Chalmers become the face of the NBA than see Kentucky experience any success, ever.
Xavier waiting to see who the assistants are going to be tells me he has no faith in Pastner.
That's what I thought too.

Or he's just digesting the situation. Man tea-leave reading time is coming to an end. We'll know some stuff soon...
or he's making sure his father is hired . . .
I humbly disagree. It shows wisdom to know that it helps to have someone who has played in the NBA or coached in the NBA to help guide someone who wants to "go to the next level."

Xavier wants someone who can prepare him for the NBA. Pastner has no track record of that, unlike Self and Calipari. That is why the assistant hires will be key to keep Henry in the fold.
On Vernon earlier, Pastner said that he is 100% certain Calipari will stay true to his words and encourage the signed players to stay at Memphis. Does anyone really think Cal will try and push Xavier away from UK and to Memphis??? Especially since Meeks has no entered the draft?

These next few weeks should be interesting. I know Cal and Pastner really care about each another (and deep down... hidden beneath my grudges, I really think Cal wants memphis to continue being successful), but college basketball is about winning, and to win you need players. The thought of Cal losing Meeks and simply pushing Xavier away seems very far fetched to me.
My guess is X goes to KY......Wall to Kansas or Duke ...... Cousins to Ky ... ..... CJ get's a release from the Ncaa to join his brother ...he fills up a seat ...and we get Dennis ....If Meeks and Patterson don't get a favorable outlook at the NBA camps ...they go back to Ky . and Cal will be a preseason top 5 ......which is perfect .... I don't think wins the SEC ...let alone a title with that team ..... also .... the big surprise of the year ... Tyreke comes back .....

I think X ends up at Kansas, Wall goes to Duke or UNC, Cousins goes to KY (if he has the test scores), Dennis and CJ stick with Memphis. KY wins the SEC handily next year, gets a 4 seed in the tourney and loses in the second round. Memphis wins the CUSA, but loses a couple of conference games, earns a 6 seed and loses in the Sweet 16 Oh, and Tyreke is a top 10 pick.
