Full Version: Any idea why it's taking so long for Mike to sign?

If it's taking this long then it has to more to the situation than we Blazer fans know about. Mike is under contract whether UAB redo the thing or not. If he's unhappy then let him out of the contract. It should not take this long to sign a new deal. Coaches that pull their name out of consideration for other jobs have reworked their deals.

Like I said, I will not trust what Mike says from here on out. He does not have UAB best interest at heart. It's about him and that's too bad. I wouldn't be dissapointed at all if UAB went after a new coach. I know it's ridiculous to think that way but it's ridiculous what Mike is putting UAB through at the moment. This is embarrasing and sooner or later the media is going to start wondering what is really going on.
My guess is Agent Jimmy Sexton. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:
Thank God somebody agrees with me and isn't afraid to speak their mind on this subject if the view is somewhat negative.

I'm so pissed that we still don't have closure on this and that there hasn't been a statement made by Coach Anderson.

Nevada, VCU, and DePaul all had something almost immediately after their coaches deciding on what they were doing. It was either a press conference or an issued statement (see Dave Leatio) where the coach expressed his feelings about the university and his mission there.

The only thing Coach Anderson has said is that "he is currently in discussions with UAB and Watson Brown." That doesn't mean a damn thing to me.

I used to be the biggest Mike Anderson fan there was. I defended him against the haters and the Murray lovers but now I can't defend him anymore.

When he hired an agent I said this would be a pain in the a$$ and it has.

UAB is looking like a freakin' joke coming out of the Sweet 16 and it's because Anderson and his damn agent only care about their paychecks right now.

If it wasn't for UAB, Anderson would have been lucky to still be an assistant coach.
I don't blame you for feeling that way.

I can see it a little different knowing how wrong the media has been in all this. I have an advantage of being somewhat closer to the situation. To put it simplly. Yes MA wants to be at UAB

No MA was not that interested in AU or Miami. It's kind of like when I was called for an interview for another company a year and a half ago. I had no intention of leaving but got a great offer. I love where I work but ended up with a sweeter deal.

Sexton muddies the waters but in the end MA will have a nice contract loaded with incintives and UAB will have a coah for a long time unless kentucky, Duke, UNC, of Arkansas comes calling....
Its been very frustrating! I havent said much anout this because I felt alot of this was posturing on CMA part. I dont want this to hurt nay Momentum that UAB has gain by making the sweet 16. I think Sexton is a big part of the hold up. From my Aubie Bud's: Sexton is Tubbys agent and did not win many friends in the Admin.

I hopw CMA is aUAB for a LONG time.
Hey BlazerEngineer, were you drinking a li' sumting sumting when you typed your last post? 04-cheers
Contracts take time to work out. Most take a good while to work out. And what you guys dont want to consider is that there is a lot of stuff going on at the moment with Watson that is keeping his attention elsewhere. It will get signed. Its not going to be a factor in recruiting.
Coach A was on WJOX this morning and said it'd be signed within the week.
Maybe 04-drinky more likely no speel sepll spel I mean SPELL check :red: :red:
