Dream on.
Two things: This Memphis is better than that Memphis, and Mizzou doesn't have Squeaky.

Tyreke Evans isn't going to know what hit him tonight.
Mizzu wins.
Regardless of tonight's outcome, I think it's going to be one of the best games of the tournament.

This game won't be about Evans. I'm sure CAL knows they're going to try and get him rattled and get into his head.

+1
On a related note: does anyone know which game CBS will feature in the B'ham area, Mizzou-Memphis or Duke-Nova? I'm certainly hoping for the former. Thanks...

Just one fan's opinion, no more/no less:
I respect Mike and his ability to get teams ready to play. I also respect Mizzou and their bulldog/do what it takes defense. Tereke does turn the ball over more than you want a point guard to. Those are all good reasons to think that Mizzou defense will give Tereke problems.

However, there is one good reason to believe that Tereke will handle what's thrown at him well enough to not be a major problem......the defense that Tereke faces every day in practice is as good or almost as good as any defense he'll see tonight. I would be shocked if Tereke hasn't been bringing the ball up the court against Dozier/Taggert/Anderson/Mack and 3 others mulitple days this week.

Thanks! 04-cheers
An interesting quote in the article is...

Quote:“And we watched that UAB tape, watched how they pushed the ball,” Lyons said. “We had a major goal watching that trying to come from where we’re, not knowing anything about his system, to where we are now. I think we are pretty close to where he wants us to be. We are still trying to get better every single day.”

This indicates to me that UAB was exactly where Mike Anderson wanted the team he was coaching. This is further supported by the fact that 3 of their five starters were coming to UAB when he bolted. Imagine what could have been if he did not leave in the manner he left....

For tonight, I am cheering for Memphis because....

1.) Memphis winning it all is the best thing for CUSA

2.) Mike Anderson screwed us over.
I like the fact that some of you are rooting for Mizzou. Your hatred runs deep--just like a rivalry should.
I'm pulling for Memphis and the conference in this one. The deeper Memphis goes the more tourney credits CUSA earns.

I really think Memphis Defense is capable of shutting down Mizzou's offense, remember remember from those occasional cold shooting nights with when Anderson was here, if you can't make shots you can't set up the press.

It'll be close for 30 mins then I think Memphis will pull away, unless Mizzou is sucessful (doubtful) with the press.
I know that some of us ( Tiger fans I am close to anyway) said with all we lost last year we would be elated with a sweet 16 this year. I just want to enjoy it. It ain't gonna last forever.
I'm still rooting for the meteor in this one.

Serious questions ... What was bad about the manner in which he left? How did he screw us over? (I'm just askin'. Don't hate on me.)
Why are some of you wing nutts rooting against Memphis. As long as Memphis keep winning CUSA is winning. That means the kids we are recruiting will CUSA as long as Memphis is winning. MA chose to leave and I wished him well but tonight I wish him hell because I want the Memphis Tigers to tear Mizzou a new one. Nothing personal just business!
