We bought an iMac desktop yesterday and I do not know much about how to use it.

Anyone have a recommendation on a good "how to" book?

Thank you.
I dont have a book on it, but if you have any general questions about apple computers, let me know.

I have a macbook.

Take it back,

Buy a pc
this is probably a good book for someone just switching to the mac.

I'd also suggest you use your PC mouse. You'll be much happier than with the one that comes with your mac.

Could not agree more on the mouse. We love the iMac, but bought a new wireless mouse within 2 months. The little teeny scrolling ball was driving me nutty.
The help drop down list at the top of the screen will help u with anything.....simple to use.

I bought a macbook about a month or so ago. I'm stopping by the store to pick up a mouse tonight. I can't stand the little finger pad that clicks any longer. I should have thought about that a couple of weeks ago and it would have solved my only frustration with the lap top. Other than that one thing I'm wondering why I didn't make the switch long ago.
Read instructions?
You made a wonderful decision in buying a mac. I have an iMac and a Macbook and they are wonderful. If you have any questions let me know.
I guess I was too old to learn new tricks. I have been using a PC for so long. I bought a Macbook and tried to use it for two months. My 44 year old BF also tried to help me. It frustrated the heck out of us both. I really did not need all the features it had. I finally just gave it to my son, who was thrilled.

But when I was struggling with it, I went to Davis-Kidd and looked in their computer section. There were tons of instruction books for Macs and Apples. It was hard for me to learn all the new terms for the same features I had on my PC. I sent the book along with the computer to Oregon.

glad it was helpful, I'm a big fan of the author. He's funny and has a knack for getting the concepts across to new users.
