Does anyone know what our 2009 Mac football schedule is looking like. I am mainly wondering what 3 Mac east teams we will play and if they are home or away.
It should come out any day now...

The MAC translation of that is about 3 weeks.
Well, here's what we know so far.

Home:
Western Michigan
Ball State
Eastern Michigan
Western Illinois
Idaho

Away:
Central Michigan
Toledo
Wisconsin
Purdue

My guess is that with the home games, only EMU, Western Illinois, Idaho, and maybe the MAC East opponent will be on Saturday. Ball State and WMU will be mid-week in November.

I'm thinking that the Western Illinois or Idaho game will be the home opener because conference play doesn't usually start that early in the season.

As for the conference games, I'm crossing my fingers that we at least get 1 Saturday home game in November.

Agreed about WIU. I'll bet it's on a Saturday night, which will be nice. Don't hold your breath for ANY Saturday games in November. That month is owned by ESPN. We will probably have some weekday games with no TV.
five games home, four away =9
3 MIA = 3 MAC cross overs or 2 and a fourth OOC?
Bill Baker read this tentative schedule on the Indy Bowl postgame show (all Saturdays):

9/5 @ Wisconsin
9/12 Western Illinois
9/19 @ Purdue
9/26 Idaho
10/3 Western Michigan
10/10 Akron
10/17 @ Toledo
10/31 Ball State
11/7 Eastern Michigan
11/21 @ Miami
11/28 @ Ohio

He also said we played "5 out of 6 at home," which would make 11/14 @ Central Michigan.
I know its a big if but the beginning of the year looks the most winnable in the last few years with how wisky has been playing and purdue going to be down again...very optimistic and im jacked for Madison
If Chandler Harnish and those young WR's can help Chad Spann carry the load, we might be able to put up quite a few points early. Just have to hope they are ready.

Wish the Huskies were opening with Purdue instead of Wisky. Purdue is more beatable and an early win over a Big 10 team would give the team confidence going into Madison.
If this tentative schedule is correct, at least there are 6 home games and half of them aren't in November. Last year only 1 home game till October, that was 03-puke

Way too early to predict our schedule. It will be juggled so that all November games will be during the week.

I know that they'll jumble it to account for weekday games, but based on this, tenatively, we only have 1 home game in November that could be on a weekday and that's the EMU game.

I don't know when the weekday games officially start, but it looks like stuff could work out.

The memories of 2 years ago prevent me from getting jacked about Madison. That sure was a bloodbath. I know there were major injuries. At this point I'm just hoping for a competitive game up in Madison. Even road games I attend where NIU loses I can say I had a little bit of fun, there was nothing fun about that trip.

Very true! And, it's no more "big" game road trips for me. I am sick of losing and the feeling I get when I leave the game. Then, I look in my wallet and get even sicker from all the money I've spent. There is no joy in losing, no matter what else I do on the trip (if anything). I don't like that feeling. My choice is to now stay home and watch the game on TV (if it's televised). That way, when the Huskies get manhandled I can just turn off the TV and go do something useful, like take a dump.

haha you are a few steps ahead of me. I have not smartened up to that point yet. This year I'll probably end up going to Wisconsin and Purdue. Although Purdue is a pretty depressing place isnt it? I cant imagine there is much to do around there. My other goal for next year is to attend either the Miami-OH or Ohio game. So a total of 3 road trips will be what I'm doing.

As far as "big" games go, I've been to Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Minnesota (in addition to the bowl games). With the exception of Minnesota, I did not enjoy the experience. I found the fans to be rude and arrogant - just like at Iowa fans at Soldier Field. Minnesota fans were quite the opposite. So, bottom line, why should I waste my time and money to watch the Huskies get shellacked and then get verbally abused by the opposing fans? I'd rather stay home and get abused by my wife - it's cheaper and I don't get beaten (unless I beg nicely).

The thing that sucks though DF, is once we get one positive feedback again from one of those big games we will be hooked for another 5 years :)
