Sun Belt commissioner Wright Waters will be honored on Thursday by the Allstate Sugar Bowl Chapter of the National Football Foundation/College Football Hall of Fame with its Contribution to Amateur Football Award.
Waters has been the Sun Belt Conference's commissioner for 10 years and has been a conference commissioner for 18. He also serves as the Football Bowl Subdivision vice president of the Collegiate Commissioners Association and the chair of both the Division I Football Issues Committee and the NCAA Bowl Licensing Subcommittee.
Waters also helped found the New Orleans Bowl, the conference's only guaranteed postseason opportunity.
