Hey, I attended the Lawrence v. Saugatuck game @ Saugatuck last night.

Whittington played good. He has a nice mid range jump shot and has good hands and moves his feet well in the post. This is the 2nd time I have watched him play. The first was against an over matched Martin team. Whittington had his way with them.

Against Saugatuck, they had a goon guarding Whittington, and Whittington had to adjust to the wide defender. He did nicely. Hopefully he can gain weight fast. His brother and dad are big guys...hopefully it is in the gene pool.

Anyways, Saugatuck won, giving Lawrence a loss. The foul differential was bad, something like 8 second half fouls against Lawrence, and 1 against Saugatuck, but it seemed more like the refs were just bad, not necessarily malicious against Lawrence.

Saugatuck and Lawrence are two very well coached teams...I wish Saugatuck's Kolin Kasan (sp?) was 3 inches taller, he could be a DI talent with a those inches.

I believe Lawrence plays in Eau Claire for Districts this coming week. They play Covert, I believe, which should be a good competition.

Anyhow, it is too bad Lawrence lost, b/c they will no longer be ranked #1. Still a great regular season...and a great prospect in Whittington.
How did he rebound the ball?
Lawrence's coach is Mike Salvano, who was a WMU football manager for Doo in early 70s.
Salvano is a great coach, as is Saugatuck's coach Doane. Both teams are extremely cerebral, year in and year out. Saugatuck does more with less talent than any team I have ever watched. Like I said, I wish their player #41 Kason (sp?) was taller/bigger. I have watched him several times and he is really crafty and has a high basketball IQ.

Whittington didn't seem to light up the boards, with regards to rebounds...I am not sure what his # of rebounds was.

What?

The mighty Clippers of Martin over matched?

Take a little off the sides and I like it tapered in back. Bring the mohawk down a tad. Thank you very much.
