All else aside, let's show the nation what CUSA basketball is about!

Good luck!
Memphis has been showing the nation what CUSA basketball is about for 4 years now...

I'm with you. None of us here can do much about the game on the court, but I hope the TV coverage reflects to crazy atmosphere that will be in place. People should respect the fan support, regardless of the outcome of the game.

That's true. UAB is trying to add to that. People quickly forget that we have been deep in the NCAA Tournament fairly recently, so we have to remind them by doing it again.
It's going to be crazy intense. That there's life outsice the ACC is going to come as a shock to many ESPN viewers.
How refreshing it is to see a mature, nicely worded post to our worthy opponents tonight.

I wish your team the best of luck tonight and on into the post-season (NCAA or NIT).

:)
Frankly, Memphis and UAB are CUSA basketball.
I don't like being mature. But both these schools...with a little nod to UTEP and Tulsa...have carried CUSA for the last four years. In my opinion, there is more riding on this game tonite than in any college game so far this year.

If both teams play well, it shows the nation how really under-rate CUSA is. If we are the number three team in the country, and we win this game by one point, what does that say about UAB. While I want us to win, UAB absolutely, and positively deserves the dance. I hope a good showing tonite gets you guys there.

For Memphis....conference winning streak, clinching the championship officially, and a number one seed lie in the balance.

For UAB....prestige for breaking the streak, and absolutely an invitation to the dance with a win.

Going to be a CRAZY atmosphere!

Again, good luck to both teams!
Dickie V will never believe that life exists outside the ACC

that's because Vitale is a Dick.
ESPN is probably kicking themselves for having missed last year's game. Though Memphis will claim they always play in hostile environments, I don't think there's an atmosphere that they play in that can match that at UAB. Call me biased, but I challenge anyone to find me another venue as crazy as UAB for the Memphis game.
Agreed! It is the most hostile environment in which we play. Tonite is going to be absolute madness.
I dunno, Knoxville is a really nasty place to play. UAB is right up there though.
Here's hoping for a good clean game with no injuries.

Note: to UAB fans. Pre-game meals should not include aspargus. It makes for some stinky pee.
this is the first time i'm posting on the blazer board, but i love watching memphis play uab ... utep, tulsa, and houston have come along as nice matchup games with the tigers, but there is just something that really fires me up when i see uab as the next opponent. i've been waiting for this game for a minute ... it's gonna be a very intense game, as it always is.

uab is a memphis rival, and i assume memphis is a uab rival. that is how i see it, and that is what makes this game mean that much more to me ...

here's to a great game. wish you guys luck, and i wish our guys will come out the gates focused and prepared (which i think they will) ... should be a great game to watch on espn2.
I am excited, nervous, and anxious about tonight's game. I hope it is a great, injury free game. I am quite positive that there isn't a single team in the SEC whose house we could go into that could possibly give us a harder game. Come to think of it there isn't a single team in the SEC that is as good as UAB.

Go Tigers!
Memphis, UAB, Tulsa, and Houston would make the top 6 of the $EC.
You two are gonna get banned from empty.org for talking like that here.
Nah, we only get banned for arguing with UAB people...

nah ... i'm not the typical fan. well sure i'm a fanatic of my team and want them to win every game and the championship (thanks chalmers), etc ... but i know college ball and i respect rivalries and other fanbases ... all in good fun if you ask me. and i'm not butt hurt of what happened @ bartow last season ... actions by a few don't resemble an entire fanbase. i'm glad uab took the appropriate measures to ensure it doesn't happen again.

anyways, again, i've written it before and will write it again ... i've always liked uab, and will continue to like uab. especially because of the history behind the two programs (case and point: gene bartow) ...

with that, good luck fellas, but you aren't taking our silverware

my score prediction: memphis 79 uab 74
