Sometimes the comments on these stories are amazing, long story here is the link. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20090.../902220361

Here is a quote from the comments,
"What's the most effective date rape drug ? Alcohol.
If she has to have a few drinks in her to get her to have sex with you - then, you used alcohol as a means to compromise her intentions and values. When men start realizing that alcohol consumption and sex don't mix - it should be a presumption of rape when the parties haven't had an established relationship before hand.
Deters' refusal to indict is ridiculous, if he couldn't get the lad on felony rape, he could have charged him with gross sexual imposition or simple assault. Deters has sons, he couldn't care less about our daughters"

So drunk sex is the guys fault, and it is rape also.
"She found the soccer player instead.

They'd spoken before. He was cocky but likeable, a Florida native with curly dark hair and a huge smile. He'd asked for Vassil's number, and she'd given it to him, but she never got the feeling he especially liked her. Still, she explained the situation and he offered to help.

I'll give you a ride, he said."

What a horrendous writer. What is this, "Twilight"? I don't even care what happened, I couldn't pay attention to the story because I was too busy laughing at how terrible the writing was.
Looking past that though, and in all seriousness, I guess I'm missing why this particular alleged rape is newsworthy. I don't mean to be insensitive, because regardless of the terminology its a real shame, but I hear about this sort of thing happening quite a bit. I quit my fraternity last year, and since, they've been informally suspected, and even accused, by several girls on several different occasions of being "roofied" and raped. Don't know if that's what happened or not, but that's the story. It just depends on the credibility of the source. But girls can do little things to prevent these things from happening, like always drinking out of one cup and getting their own drinks, walking home in packs, not getting belligerent. I spend most of my time nowadays either in bars or at home with some friends having a few, and I haven't been to a frat party in over a year and a half, but I do remember being asked by girls to get them drinks, or being asked to take them home, and in retrospect, they were way too trusting of somebody they hardly knew.
Funny, because most women I know get real slutty and flirty when drunk. Women just like to use the "I was drunk" excuse at times as thier anti-slut defense. I'm not talking about being roofied or having sex with a passed out woman, but women love to make excuses for thier own decisions sometimes.
Personal responsibility carries no weight in today's society.
