Jared Marks, OLB from Colerain HS class of 2008 originally signed with Southern Illinois is back home in Cincinnati. He told me he is thinking about enrolling at UC and walk on.

Here's his Saluki profile: http://siusalukis.cstv.com/sports/m-foot...red00.html

All-state, all-city and second-team All-Greater Miami Conference honoree in 2007...Recorded 26 tackles, nine sacks and four pass breakups...Returned one fumble for a touchdown...Also a member of the basketball and track & field teams.

He has the frame to add muscle mass, good kid, could be a project.

Team mate of Brandon Mills and Evan Davis.

Anyone know why he left SIU?
He stated S. IL was too far from home for him, he was back at home and considering some other options. He mentioned UC 1st but he has some other schools in mind.

I would be surprised if he had any off field issues, he came through the CYO program I am involved with and made every practice and always had a great attitude. He was with CYO until he enrolled at Colerain as a freshman (instead of coming up through the Little Cards).

I basically stopped for gas yesterday morning on my way to work and he was doing the same. I knew he had gone to S. IL so I asked what he was doing in Cincinnati instead of at S. IL and that's what he shared. I thought it might be of interest to some others on the board.

This could be another example of "commit to a school instead of a program/coach".
