W/ respect to the snake, there is evidence that such a creature has existed (I read that they discovered fossil records in Asia somewhere of a snake that dwarfed pythons and anacondas, I think called thermageddon), but I think those pictures wouldn't be credible evidence of current existence.

Maybe that IS GT. Has anyone ever actually met this guy?
Moster Fish of the Congo

For those interested in weirdness, one of the scientists on this trip and featured on the show in the brother in law of a poster here. It has some cool/weird stuff.

I read that somewhere also. They said that the snake was 45 feet long and weighed about 2,500 pounds. Those pictures just don't seem real to me, that snake looks way longer than 100 feet.

Most snakes have the ability to shed their skin.
Tall and tan, and long and lovely, the Girl from Ipanema goes walking, and when she passes, each one she passes, goes......"Hey have you seen GeorgiaTiger."

Google it, it's everywhere. They were enormous, and seem to suggest a different climate (i.e. warmer one). Like you, I'm suspicious about whether it currently exists, and I'd want more than those two pictures to convince me. The ripples around the one going through the forest look like those surrounding a much smaller fish. I'd be curious to find out whether ripples' sizes are congruent to the size of the object. I doubt it. It just doesn't increase proportionally. The other picture is just silly.
Here is a good article about the fossils they found in Columbia.
