There have been a few companies/organizations that have announced relocations to the Memphis area in the past two months or so, including: 4 Elements, Centrepot, Verified Person, and most notably Hilton's shared services brands. The latest is the Opticians Association of America, as mentioned here: http://memphis.bizjournals.com/memphis/s...round=lfn.

Some seem to have a vested interest in reducing or promoting the reduction of the image of Memphis or self-esteem of Memphians. I want to remind the reasonably- and open-minded that not everything is negative. There is a rational and legitimate reason people and corporations move here. We need to do better, but we have a lot of positives to build upon. There just has to be vision and leadership to really revolutionize this great region.

Well said. Let's not forget that TN in general is good for business because of the lack of state income tax alone. Memphis is great due to it's location for logistics.
