There is a three-game 'tournament' here in Waco, TX in March in which UAB will play.

We will play UC-Irvine on Friday 06 March,
we will play the University of South Alabama on Saturday 07 March,
then we will play the host-team, Baylor on Sunday 08 March.

Does anyone from this board follow UAB baseball enough that they plan on attending? If so, PM me in advance. I met some of you folks here during homecoming last year and it would be great to meet more of you, or see some of you again. We could head over to Cricket's Bar & Grill right after the games. Thay have a nice selection of beer. First round is on me. 04-cheers
Let me know. I'll be there wearing my UAB attire.
Not that far away. If I am in Texas I can make the Rice or Houston depending on what year but I will be relegated to JSU this year which is closer to my home that Birmingham.

I am pumped about baseball.
Really? No one?
That's too bad. I was really hoping to have some company there at Baylor Ballpark.

Oh, well. I guess I'll have to drink one for each of you here then. 03-drunk

Just let me know if any of you change your mind. 04-cheers
Last year, the UAB women's soccer team played at MTSU. I was the ONLY person at the game cheering for UAB. After the game, the coach came over, thanked me for coming to the game, and invited me to their post-game dinner at Penn Station Sub. I had a great time.

Lesson: If you are the only UAB fan at the game, you get treated like royalty.
My best, and admittedly only, UAB away game memory was when the baseball team was playing at St. Louis the same weekend we were playing Kansas in the sweet 16. We had about 50 fans at the baseball game and had a great time (even though UAB lost.) The St. Louis first baseman's mom stayed on our side of the bleachers even though almost all of the other St. Louis fans moved to the other side. We rewarded her by cheering for her son whenever he was at bat, but booing the rest of his teammates.
My only chance to see the baseball team will be when they visit Marshall. Why are those games being played in Charleston?

I'm still hoping the Blazers will play a return series at Central Michigan, Mt. Pleasant is only a few hours away.
marshall plays all its conference games in the single a park in charleston because they dont have a baseball field of their own. they play their non-conference games at some sandlot park in huntington that the conference wont allow play on.

no joke.
Thanks

Wow.

Funny, I always find it comforting to find that we're not the only school in this conference with facility issues.

When I was a student at Eckerd College in St. Pete, FL we played our home games at Al Lang Stadium downtown, single A park for the Cardinals.
