No one mentioned it here but this is what he said before the MSU game about UAB:

Charles Hollis: College Picks

UAB should be able to handle Mississippi State
Thursday, October 07, 2004

With Darrell Hackney at quarterback, Roddy White and Reggie Lindsey at wide receiver and Corey White and Dan Burks at running back, the only offense that might be better than UAB's in Conference USA might be Louisville's.

For a program trying to get into its first bowl game, this is probably the year the Blazers are glad Louisville isn't on the schedule. Louisville is hot as all get-out. Louisville has outscored its opponents 173 to 28.

After beating two of C-USA's better teams the past couple of weeks in Memphis and Cincinnati, the Blazers are off to a 3-1 start overall and 2-0 in the league. They're tied at the top of the standings with Louisville and Southern Miss.

A few weeks ago, a UAB victory at Mississippi State seemed more like a long shot than a gimme. Now UAB is an 11-point favorite going into Saturday's game in Starkville. The double-digit point spread may be more of an indictment on the state of State's program than it is UAB's fast start.

Nevertheless, UAB can add to its postseason qualifications by defeating only its second Southeastern Conference team in its history.

This week's picks:

UAB at Mississippi State:

After defeating Memphis and Cincinnati back-to-back, the Blazers don't need to stumble here. State is one of the worst offensive teams in the country, and UAB has offensive playmakers Alabama would love to have. UAB 28, Mississippi State 23.

A little late but interesting thougts from Mr. Hollis.
