Probably not anything we don't already know, since this is probably where they got their news.
someone please take notes word for word. With Davis' diarrhea of the mouth, he should have interesting things to say.
"We've finally got our guys to focus on what's important, and that's the season. We've finally got the guys playing well, and they've been hearing rumors since June...July...but all that matters is coach is here and we're gonna play."

Davis was at the Tip Off club. When asked about Alabama, he said rumors is all a part of being a successful coach. 03-lmfao Then he said something about our team playing for the season blah blah
BORING

What he didn't say is that the rumors his team has been hearing since June or July were coming from Davis himself.
UAT can have him. UAT can have Cousins. UAT can have the BCS. I'm just plain tired of UAB being trashed and associated with trash. Our university is suppose to be a beacon in this city, this state, and in athletics.

/soapbox

I can't believe that UAB football is actually bringing me hope for once. I wish both of our sports were doing well together but I'll definitely take the new recruits on Wednesday and enjoy the excitement for the fall for once.
There wasn't anything on the 10:00 sports.

I am feeling that way also. And you know something is wrong if I am looking forward to the football season.04-jawdrop
Davis needs to go somewhere else. If he was the one perpetuating these rumors, then he just needs to leave. Undoubtedly, he does not appreciate UAB giving him a chance to coach again being that he had gotten FIRED at IU. That being said, he needs to leave! ! !

I was at the Tip Off club lunch yesterday and unless someone asked him about Alabama on the side there was no mention of it during Q&A or at any other time.

Did Fox 6 ask him about it during an interview?

The questions from the crowd were:
Who is the best team you have played?
How do you scrimmage with only 9 players?
Why don't you play Alabama?
Comment on Cousins?
What about the players you do have committed?
It appeared to be a quick interview on the side.

Actually, Davis resigned. See AB's thread about the article regarding Davis' time at IU and resignation. However, I do agree with the sentiment of your post.
Though, I'm not quite sure about how I feel in regards to Davis leaving after this year.

I think we need to get MC in here and get a ruling on whether Davis was fired or resigned at IU.
Davis resigned with a severance package. Anyone who says Gottfried was really fired needs to say the same thing about Davis.
In my opinion, both Davis and Gottfried quit. Not fired. Not resigned, but quit on the season because they knew it would get ugly at the end.

When he quit...they lost 2 games in a row on the road...to Iowa and to Minnesota. They were ranked in the top 10 when they lost to Minnesota...but minnesota was horrible and IU got thumped. The fans had quieted down that year because they were in the Top 10, even with D.J white, their best player, being injured the whole year. But after that loss, the rumblings from the IU fans started again and people went crazy and I guess he had eniugh of it. News broke about him quitting in the middle of an overtime loss to Penn State...(it was really weird.) His team ended the season as a 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and almost made the sweet 16 before losing to a Adam Morrison gonzaga team. So to say he quit because the season would've got ugly...is an over statement. I'm just saying...not supporting Davis. I just like pointing to you when you're worng because you are like the head-honcho of the board and you are usually right.

I'm not speaking to you directly, just on the topic...but...I think anyone spreading the rumors about Davis better have a good source and double check it before spewing this kind of garbage here on our fan site.
If True...no problem.
If Not True...then it certainly impedes his ability to right the ship.

Vaden hit a buzzer-beater 3 to tie the game versus Steve Fisher's SDSU team.

What is his definition of successful? I think it differs from that of most UAB fans.
