Now I'm def not a Bruce Springstein fan and now I know why ..Why did they have him play the halftime show ? I know all the older people on this board will get on me , but come on dude he didn't sound even halfway decent ... And whats he had 2 songs that stood the test of time ! BAsh away if you'd like but damnnnnn.....
He ran out of breath. I didn't think he was going to get through Born to Run. I'm one of the "old" guys and have never been a huge fan, but still liked his music.
As Super Bowl halftime shows go, it does not compare to Tom Petty, and especially Prince.
It was a typical Springsteen show - complete with the "Boss Time" schickt.
FWIW, he wasn't big at all in Memphis when those songs were first released. By and large he was completely ignored here until after the Born in the USA promotion.
UMM im not "young youth " i loved tom petty last year and i really liked zz top back in 99/00 whichever year it was and prince rocked out .. I just don't like whiney music sorry ..... the NFL is suppose to be a young sport and all that good stuff , they could atleast try and get some new singers and no not the American Idol flunkies !!!!
Prince was great. Maybe the best Superbowl halftime ever. But I'll take the intensity of Bruce's show over Petty's show any time -- and I think Tom Petty is awesome.

Last time they tried to appeal to the youth, there was a "wardrobe malfunction"
The NFL is not supposed to be a "young sport" look at the commercials they usually show during games. They cater to a more established demographic. This isn't the NBA.
