please make the phone calls

this performance could put us under, we have to bring new blood into the program while DHack is still here.
I agree. Yall get busy on this. There have been rumblings for a long time about wanting to get rid of Watson. I'm tired of that. It needs to end THIS YEAR.
Since we can't email the AD we must go straight to the top. I plan on sending an email this week to that person.

If Watson stays on as head coach we will lose our football program within 3 years. Our attendance will not get any better, we will not be able to get TV games to help offset the lack of paid attendance, and donations will plummett.
The e-mails to Dr. Garrison about Sue Samuels worked, quite obviously. Sue had a called meeting with Carol and several members of the athletic department on Friday of last week, and according to her, it was a direct result of people like us making phone calls.

Do it.
zlcuab,

I blame you...you weren't wearing "the pants" 05-mafia 03-wink
I, and several other people on this board, were told by a senior administration official after last season that the football program would probably not survive the process of hiring a new coach.

It's great to be a blazer fan eh?

:eek2:

It was also a result of her getting in a screaming argument with a long time blazer fan at the tulane game over why the band was playing while we were on offense and hack was struggling to make audibles over the band's noise.

I am curious. On what do they base that comment on?

I say CC the AD. If he knows how concerned and outraged the fans are, maybe he will do the right thing and resign.

03-confused :cuss: 05-mafia
From their ongoing talks with the board of trustees about support for UAB football I would assume.

I'm afraid it's too late for that sort of action.
Hackney is a Senior next season.
Do you really think he'll have time to absorb a new system before he graduates? (Unless we elevate Coach Sullivan to the head coach position).

I've resigned myself to the reality that we have no real recourse at this point.
Had we done something a few years ago, we may have turned the corner with this program by now, but it is far too late to do anything about it in my opinion.
Thanks to all of the "pro-Watson Brown" supporters that helped to keep him in place as long as we have, there is nothing left to do but give Coach Brown another six, eight, or ten years to see if we can keep our program afloat or if it ceases altogether.
This is what we've brought upon ourselves by hesitating to make the necessary moves years ago as we were moving up the ladder.
Now all we can do is sit back, enjoy the few bright spots we have remaining with our football program for however many seasons we may have left, and be glad that we tried but ultimately failed.

We are the Temple University of the South.
Temple is an established university located within a large city.
They were evicted from a very mediocre football conference and are currently struggling to maintain their football program.
We need to realize the similarities here ... ALL OF US ... including Dr. Garrison.
It's too late to fix anything.
Leave Coach Brown alone and let him finish what he started ... from cradle to grave.
He gave birth to this program allow him to bury it as well.
I just hope that ALL of the Watson Brown supporters from years past are happy now with what has happened to what was once a promising football program.
At this point it would be next to impossible to build our program up to a level of even a Troy State.
Making this an actually legitimate football program IS impossible now.

So ... Sit back, one and all, and enjoy the grand finale of the show.
Will the last one out please turn off the lights?
Thank you!

Whatever it was, the band was better than before. They were excited to be there which is more than I can say for the team. Since Bobby Keyes is so full of hot air, he should swap uniforms with one of the band members. This would add volume to the band and an enthusiastic player to the team!

Hack wouldnt have to learn a new system if Pat Sullivan took over HC duties, which I think is the most logical choice. A new defensive coordinator, yes... but heck, next year's defense certainly couldnt play worse than these last two games if they tried.

I, for one, still refuse to give up what we have. We can still turn things around!
The defense is what has killed us all year long, not the total package. Watson makes a few bonehead offensive calls during games and permits the Kickoff team stragegist ( whoever the hell that is) to cause what I assume is a very strong legged Nick Hayes to do those 20-30 yardline pooch kicks over half the time, but I blame the close calls and these past 2 losses on the Defensive side of the ball.
Im Pi$$ed like the rest of you, but I dont think this mess lays totally at the feet of WB. Key injuries ( yes, thats right and dont argue about it) have hurt the D-line and the pass coverage and what also may result from faulty Defensive Game management seem to be the principal culprits. Heres a glaring example. Anybody in their right mind knows that on a wet field, the receivers have a great advantage over the defenders. Sooooo, if your gonna be in Man coverage ( where we got severely burned ), you must instruct your cover guys to not stand only 2 yards back --- you gotta have some cushion to allow you to react. Bobby Keyes was almost up on the line of scrimmage most of the time and he paid dearly for it ( so much for his surprise for USF recievers!!). # 24, safety, got burned virtually the same way. Also, when they are up that close, it makes it harder to react back to the middle of the field for run defense cause they are up there getting their butts whipped on wideouts blocking. Ok, thats all for now.. sheesh, this bites!

Rats....thought I could pin it (loss) on the pants. Guess we'll just have to blame the...... COACHING!!!!!!! :bang:
I'm not going to overeact to that sorry excuse for an effort by our team last night. I still feel that Watson should be given one more year (ON THE HOTSEAT!), replace BOLT, and see if a new defensive co-ordinator can turn around this program. For the sake of Hackney, he should NOT be thrown into an entirely different system in his senior year. If the coaching staff changes my bet is Hack heads to the NFL.
Losing Donahoe was a serious blow to our defense. It's obvious that our defensive effort has declined since he left. Bolt is the defensive co-ordinator. He SHOULD know all aspects of the defense INCLUDING the defensive line. He's just not getting the job done.
I say fire Bolt and put Watson on the HotSeat!
