I have from a good outside of UAB, inside the Anderson network, that Mike has these kids FIRED up. He has conditioned them more than last year. It is ironic that when you think the kids can no longer take anymore conditioning, Mike continues to push them farther and farther. I think this is why the players respect Mike and they buy into his system.
This is one of the things that truly separates GREAT coaches from ORDINARY ones. Mike is quickly building UAB into a basketball power again.
Looking forward to the scrim tonight. Lets hope somebody shows an outside shot ( Mo and Sidney will be missed bigtime for that ability). I definitely need a 'pick me up' after last nights heart wrenching performance by the football team.
We may lose some games this year in basketball but it sure as hell won't be because our kids don't play hard.
Football, on the other hand, is completely different. Watson needs to learn how to be an a$$hole sometimes and bust their a$$.

Why don't you tell him that when you make your weekly call to the radio show? I'd love to hear it.
I'm not wasting my time and money calling into that show anymore.
Maybe I'll change my mind by next week. If so, I just might ask him...just use different words.
