Very surprising game today on TV. Miami started fast and closed fast. Kent State didn't look good. Very sloppy game. Tyree Evans with zero points 0-8 shooting. Costly loss for Kent State who is 7-9 vs division I teams this year and has no wins vs the rpi top 150. Third home loss for Kent State. The 20 win streak will end this year and Kent State has lost its swagger. They can't beat the good teams. Miami hands Kent State a double digit home loss. Miami experience and frontline size paid off. They didn't shoot great and still won at Kent State. Miami had their share of sloppy turnovers. Both these teams were picked to win the MAC this year. Miami has no bench points and still beat Kent State on the road. I thought Kent State was more athletic, but they didn't show that today. They miss Scott and Q on that frontline. Parks and Sullinger are not even close to the quickness those two brought to the table. MAC teams have scouted Kent and now are expoiting that.
My take after watching that one was that Bramos willed them to victory. Took over in the final two minutes.

Seems to be the trend for all MAC teams this season.

Miami shot 52% in the first half and 47% for the game. I'd say that's pretty good shooting, especially considering Miami has now shot 42% on the year and was playing on the road.
Bramos had a few shots go in and out, but overall Miami did play well offensively. The bad sign for KSU is that many teams they play are having a "great" offensive night.

The fact Miami's bench did not score is not a surprise. It is true in every level of basketball that your bench wins home games for you. The starters had better be prepared to win you some road games.

FYI, if any coaches are just now picking up on the fact KSU is not as athletic defensively in the paint, they need to more research in advance of the season. Thanks, OUJohn for joining the party on that obvious fact.
