It's about darn time the University's station actually broadcast some games. Did something need to be worked out with WSPD/WCWA?

That is my understanding, yes. I'm new to the station as of this year and from what i gather there have been issues in the past. But we did the home football and basketball games, plus the Michigan game, without complaint from WSPD and the home women's game up to this point without complaint from WCWA.

Those of us involved in the sports department (there aren't many) are all new to the radio game, but we're all coming along pretty nicely as far as learning the ropes and refining delivery and such as far as I'm concerned. It's all a work in progress, but i think we're certainly worth listening to. And, of course, any help from the fans (i.e listening/feedback) is always greatly appreciated.

does anybody know why BCSN does not travel up to michigan to broadcast UT games?? it would be nice to see more live games on that channel instead of 5 re-runs of a high school game that was on 2 weeks ago

You know how much money is involved with that??? Plus BCSN is just awful, its really hard to watch for more than 30 seconds.

BCSN would be great if they made the picture less fuzzy and got some commentators who knew what they were talking about.
um, why is there music on?? it's after 7:30
That's too bad. I was thinking of switching and listening to the women instead of the men. Rockets lead 26-21 in with about three minutes left, according to the live stats update from Eastern's site.
Rockets up 32-21 at the half against the Eagles.
this sucks, something came up so I wasn't able to go to the game and can't listen to it online.
arent the women on 1230 wcwa? you can listen to that online.

thanks, I was thinking 1470 which has no streaming. listening now
I'm listening too. Thanks for the reminder.

UT up 37-25.

They are broadcasting Miami at BGSU live tonight.
Nice conference win on the road.

Great, a bright spot in the womans program. They have not been good in a while and they look up and coming. It looks like the men are pretty far behind.

Sorry all, got stuck in traffic due to all of the snow and several accidents and never actually made it up to Ypsi. We're all very disappointed that we couldn't bring the game to you guys. Just another lesson learned on the logistical end for our department. We will be on the air next Wednesday for the CMU game at 7:00, weather be damned. This I promise you.

i have an idea, check the forcast and plan your trip accordingly. Sometimes it snows here in the winter03-idea

nice intent though, more focus should go to the women's team.

Like i said, it's a very important lesson learned for the department. We're trying to build from nothing, learning as we go and teaching ourselves. Tonight taught two important lessons: i need to plan trips better and discover better routes out of town. Home games haven't been an issue. We'll get the kinks worked out.

And i completely agree about the women's team needing more exposure. The next step for our broadcasts (other than, you know, actually having them) is to do a postgame Player of the Game interview. That should begin Wednesday night.
I know there are FCC regulations and gobs of money involved, but do you think WXUT will be cranking up the juice any time soon? 89X booms across the lake from Canada, I figure we ought to boom 88X right back at them.
