It would appear that EMU FB's recruiting base has expanded with the addition of our new staff. I would think that this class will be more diversified than previous classes. Wouldn't be surprised if kids from Florida, Virginia, California (JUCO system), Mi and Oh and Indiana were brought in.

True but we'll probably pull back from some areas, such as D.C. and Canada.

As (ret.) General Shinseki says, "can't have a 12 division military strategy with a 10 division Army."

not to quibble, but I'd GUESS it is called redeploying your assets (coaches and $) from certain areas and placing them in other areas.

That said, there is a lot more SPEED in Florida and the Tidewater areas of Va. then in Canada or the D.C. area.

English will want to get from those areas what he can not get in Michigan and Ohio.

Just my 2 cents. 03-shhhh
Not sure about the staff as yet. Lewis looks the best to me recruiting connection and experience wise. The CFL coach if he has US connections they may be dated. We're still fishing to find the real Tim Carter who is the EMU assistant. Certainly Wheatley has a name that will do well in Michigan as does English. A Carter has some limited recruiting experience as does Anderson the OL. Still waiting for the LB coach which next year is a need position.

I think we all agree that this year's class the one this coming February will not be a respresentative class of English's recruiting abilities and me I'm keeping my expectations low but also deep down inside hoping for some pleasant surprises.
here is a good one:

Maybe we need a single 'important thread' - I think Dennis has created 3 recruiting threads recently.

I like 'Nickle idea "... English Edition".
Reading comments on the Louisville Rivals board, the thought was that Simms is going to transfer to a East Coast school to be closer to home Rutgers was mentioned as a possibility.

The DB LT there wasn't alot of tears shed over his potential loss and if you read the article Steve posted its is unlikely he will be coming here because the school will not release him to come here. Occassionally we forget the school and coach has some same on where a player can transfer to.

Here's more on Thomas: http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs...ckcomments

Looks like Kragthorpe holds a grudge against former UL coaches.
Thomas will have 2 years eligibility after sitting out a year. He may end up at EMU eventually. Sounds like he is a player! He certainly appears to like English a lot!

The last sentence might be the key.

Players seem to like English.

That could payoff in recruits, transfers, etc. not just with this player or that but over the long haul as well.
The Louisville Courier article was the one I read on the Rivals Lousiville board. Unless something has changed ie Coach K allowing him to transfer to EMU I doubt we'll see him here. Anyone have any information on whether Coach K gave him a release to transfer to EMU? Thanks.
