So last night I am at my girlfriends apartment in Ann Arbor and we were playing some drinking games with some friends when we decided to invite her neighbors over. He is a coach on the UofM football team and after some drinking I brought up EMU to him (love my Eagles) and he said that Fred Jackson had four interviews for the HC job and was set to have it before Ron English came back in the mix with no other HC offers. He also said that he was to have the running back coach job if FJ was hired but also said that he still might get it because Fred talked to Ron about him getting it. Anywho he is a nice guy who is a WVU alumni and played for them and also was a coach there. So atleast we have a little insight on the RB coach job. 03-shhhh

A little more detail, please. Thanks.

Age, race, etc.

Is he at UofM????

Graduate assistant?
Could it be?

"Jahmile “Jamal” Addae is in his first
season as the defensive graduate assistant
coach for the Michigan football program.
He works with the defensive secondary
and scout team offense.
Addae was a graduate assistant in the
football video department at West Virginia
(2007). Prior to joining the Mountaineers
staff, he taught English at Riverview High
School.
Addae was a four-year starter and
two-time captain at West Virginia. He was
a finalist for the 2005 Ronnie Lott Trophy
and was named to the watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award that same season.
A three-time All-Big East performer, Addae received first-team accolades
his final two seasons (2004-05) after garnering second-team honors
as a sophomore (2002). "

Give me a few dots and I will try to connect them. 03-cloud9 I love it.

Im now trying figure out if Pioli (Patriots front office guy) goes to CLE Browns, will Iowa's Ferentz go to CLE as HC.

If so, does Erik Campbell get a call from Ron English and Dr. Gragg and get an invite to come back to Washtenaw County.

The OC job is open. 03-idea

Is there enough money in the bank? (football budget).
I would prefer Wheatley over this guy for RB coach, but maybe the delay in staff announcements are the $$$$.?

I don't have a horse in this race, but agree with the $ issue.

I'm sure English was given a salary pool before being hired as HC.

As such, each hire is seen in the context of depleting that pool.

Would Wheatley by signficantly more expensive then this guy?

Is English trying to 'conserve salary' for one or two bigger hires?

Would he prefer a more experienced (and higher $) OC or less experience OC but more experience in the position coaches?

My take:

English hire a fairly inexperienced DC but English will be very involved in the defense.

English needs a top notch OC to go with what appears to be a very young position coach staff.
Steve, whoever English hire is his business I just wish the staff would be more along than it is now. Just an overall observation and question, do graduate assistants usually have established recruiting connections or how involved are they in recruiting period?
