Miami QB Robert Marve decides to transfer. Any chance?

The release comes with conditions that don't sit well with Marve. He can't play for teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Southeastern Conference or the state of Florida

I for one would love this move.

Look at what DSCAT1 found.

Today
Doesn't sound so bad to me
You would think Tim Walton has a connection to Marve since Walton was there when Marve was recruited. Maybe that phone call was made today....

I hope he does not come here. A couple of tranfers is ok but you don't want your whole roster to be transfers and juco's

You have got to be kidding. The kid broke State of Florida passing records in high school and won a State Championship. I would take him all day.

Great point, A, great point.

Depends on whether you're ok with middle of the pack CUSA or if you want to win it.
Marve showed flashes of greatness this season, but he made some terrible decision on and off the field. Several suspensions, more INTs than TDs. He'll be surrounded with less talen here at Memphis, and that may further show in his numbers. However, Randy Shannon at Miami utilized him in a two QB rotation that looked like it shook his confidence a little bit. I believe that our offense can make a mediocre QB like Hankins or Hall look pretty impressive on paper, and with a 5 star recruit like Marve, there is no telling what we could do. He's also one of the most deceptively mobile QBs I've seen in a long time.
What are the realistic chances that this happens? Has he said we were one of the schools he was looking at or is this speculation?

That is why I said in wants to go to TN. He is trying to appeal the restictions on going to some schools.
I don't understand the stiff restrictions they are putting on the kid. I understand not wanting him to go to a school they play in the next 3-4 years, but they don't play all SEC schools. Keeping him out of the ACC and the other Florida schools makes sense though.

Did he lose his starting position because of off the field stuff or was he just beaten by the true freshman? I saw jacory harris play here in Dallas last year against Southlake Carroll. He looked good for a high school senior, and put up some good numbers as a freshman, better than Marve....Probably worth a look, Hall will be gone by the time he is eligible if he does come to Memphis. At least he has NCAA D1 starting experience as compared to juco.
Marve was still the starter until the bowl game. He was suspended for that one, I believe for academic reasons (Either missing a class or failing one-don't remember which).

Agreed. I would love to have a roster full of four year players that we've recruited out of HS, but the reality is that we have to do whatever it takes to elevate the program at this point. If that means dredging the transfer pool and handpicking from the JUCO ranks then so be it. The time will come when all of our best players will come here straight out of high school and those players will be enough to help us win championships. Unfortunately, we're not getting enough of those players yet.
to be accurate, even if he doesn't get the terms of release changed, he CAN go to any Florida/SEC/or ACC school if he wants to. It just means he'll have to sit out two years instead of one. And given he has already taken his redshirt year, that would only leave him one more year of eligibility. Or he can transfer to a DIAA or lower school and eligible immediately.

It is my understanding he can go to any of those schools he will just have to pay his own way for one year. That is why he may go to South FL where in lives pay his own way for one year and then be ready to play the next year. He does not have to sit two years.
