she sucks, plain and simple. give Cubit an extention?
KB is the best AD WMU has ever had. Hands down.
The only possible gripe anyone could have with her would be last year's extension of Culhane's contract, and that may prove to not have been so bad, given a little time.
It would be better to have asked how unfavorable have the past 2 university administrations been to sports at WMU.

I just can't wrap my head around the Culhane thing, frankly. 8+ seasons in, the best season in recent memory is 18-18-1 (on the back of a 22 year old freshman who bails after one season) after going 24-45-8 the two previous seasons, and you give him more time. Since the extension? 9-38-7. At this rate, our hockey program is going to join the track program.

She seems capable of concentrating on a few sports (mens and women's basketball, volleyball, football) and the rest seem to just go and hang. And while Bailey bears the brunt of the blame for the disappearance of two more sports in recent memory, it burns me that Michigan Tech was able to raise enough money to save their bloody football program despite a ******* President, and there was no real effort to fight Bailey on it here.
There was no real effort to fight it because it was already decided, and happening before it was announced. There wasn't enough time to fight it before it was too late.
Bailey wasn't smart enough to use consesus in these type of decisions. One more example that she was in WAY over her head. Good riddance.

FWIW-
WMU's Gary Fund surpassed the ONE Million dollar mark in gifts for the 1st time in 2007/08.
Have you written a Gary Fund check recently ??
My last Gary Fund check was proably about 3 years ago. The last couple of years I keep saying: maybe next year when I have some money....

I'm concerned about the hockey program, as well. Perhaps we can't hire a new coach for what JC is willing to accept. I really have no knowledge of the ins and outs of the athletic department but that whole situation does seem rather baffling. The silence from our AD on the topic is deafening, which leads to conspiracy theories about somebody hoping WMU hockey goes away.

Just curious, not trying to pick an argument here but what sports are you referring to regarding "hanging"? Our tennis programs are in great shape, women's track and field is doing well. My biggest concern other than hockey is the direction our baseball program is going (down, down, down).
