Tyree Evans led a Kent State with 21 points as Kent State struggled to beat UNC Greensboro (1-7). Kent State trailed at half time before Tyree Evans explodes with 18 points in the second half to lead the Flashes to a 73-62 victory. Kent State is now 5-5.
lets see if this is the spark kent needs. he certainly makes that lineup more effective by apreading the d and taking some attention away from fisher and singletary
Can't complain about 4 of 4 from 3 point land in the second half... Or 100% on the night for free-throws.... Or the fact that I actually saw him get an offensive rebound.... Or the fact that he plays defense just like Jordan Mincy.... But then again I was starting to believe in Geno Ford for a minute and then I almost cried when there was a 5 game losing streak.
Where's all the negative responses? Are you all biting your tongue and not saying anything? I expected someone to jump on this in a heartbeat.
as far as i can tell none of evans youthful transgressions involved actually harming anyone, so i'll reserve judgement on whether he has matured enough to handle things. seems like he's on the right track. obviously, he'll be a big help on the court for kent.
the only negative I had on Tyree was that he had questionable shot selection in the first Half and didn't seem to remember where the boundary lines were for a minute. Other than that, I thought he played well.

Sorry to disappoint. If you feel there should be negative responses perhaps you could provide some. Sounds to me like he's a pretty good player.

On the contrary. I'll be the first to say something positive. He's been in Kent for over three months and not only is he academically eligible, he hasn't even been arrested once. Amazing! 04-bow
Yeah what are the odds of that...Scooter?
I don't know that I'd be asking for advice from Scooter:
Scooter convicted of four felonies
H2Oville,
I was referring to his off the court issues. There was a thread a while ago where people were ripping on Kent for even taking a chance on the guy. Normally, I am not the kind of guy to stir the pot, but the during that whole debate I bit my tongue and didn't say anything.

I got that impression although I never heard of the guy. My point was DON'T stir the pot if no one else is. Just strain the stems and seeds and fire it up. 03-wink
