Forget Rev. Wright.
Forget Bill Ayres and the crumpling school system in Chicago where he was a community orgainzer.
Forget his questionable citizenship.
Forget his promise of change only to bring more of the same.
Forget his lack of experience.
Forget the the fact that he hasn't done sh*t and he's Time Mag's "Person" of the year - they won't even call him a man.

The expectations of what Obama can do are so high it will be impossible for him to meet them all.

Do you think maybe they jumped the gun a little?
.

It is going to be so BOSS when all these Pandering Groups, Organizations, and Media have to report this Guys Fall From Above Heaven.

It is going to be like when I got my First Dirt Bike ..... Sheer Head Over Heels Ecstasy.

You know he has got to fall hard with all this Blabber going on from people who absolutely Do Not Know the man at all.

What a Dan Rather Gamble.

Forget that he was an underdog to even win the Democratic nomination.
Forget that he is the first minority President-elect (becoming so in an overwhelming fashion) in our nation's history.
Forget that he has inspired numerous people during his campaign.

You may not like his policies, but this is a sound choice by Time.

Every year Time comes out with a person of the years and people whine. What else is new? Sorry, but Obama was the biggest news story of the year.
Don't forget Time Magazine named Hiller as person of the year in 1938, and Joseph Stalin in 1939. Hitler went on to murdered 10 million people and Stalin murdered 30 million people. Its a rag mag.
This is no surprise. And whether you like him or not, he had some unprecedented accomplishments.
.

Time Magazine is so un-apologetically lax on who they put on their Man of the Year Covers, that you can see it is hook to do no more than sell sell sell Magazines.

I don't look at it as any 'Real Endorsement' of the person featured on the cover because as mentioned, Uncle Adolpho Hitlorio was "Da Man" just months before he Raped all of Europe on his murdering rampage.

Says they have been on the Wrong Side of a person most all their existence.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

.
To show how dubious the title of "Time's Man of the Year" award and, and how people's stupidity really is, In 1982 the "Computer" was the "Man" of the year. They couldn't find a human worthy that year.
GWB was man of the year once.

He wasn't the first to do it. Mccain wasn't the favorite either and niether were the 69 Mets, 69 Jets and 08 Giants.

Why does the left constantly remind he's a minority? He even did it himself many times. If minorities are supposed to be normal people like the rest of us then why do you constantly remind us they're different?

He sure did with his promises of free handouts for leeches.

Its not based on popularity, its based on influence. In Time's own words, the POY is an individual who "for better or for worse, ...has done the most to influence the events of the year."

I have no desire to do the research but was OBL or Saddam POY? They influenced the sh*t out of this country and the rest of the world.

Quote:As a result of the public backlash it received from the United States for naming the Ayatollah Khomeini Man of the Year in 1979, Time has shied away from using figures that are controversial in the United States. Time's Person of the Year 2001—immediately following the September 11, 2001 attacks—was New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, although the rules of selection, the individual or group of individuals who have had the biggest effect on the year's news, made Osama bin Laden a more likely choice. The issue that declared Giuliani the Person of the Year included an article that mentioned Time's earlier decision to elect the Ayatollah Khomeini and the 1999 rejection of Hitler as Person of the Century. The article seemed to imply that Osama bin Laden was a stronger candidate than Giuliani, as Hitler was a stronger candidate than Albert Einstein. The selections were ultimately based on what the magazine describes as who they believed had a stronger influence on history.

+1...I guess BO is going to turn the US into a communist dictatorship and then set about extermination of all the white folks!03-lmfao
.

"Ayatollah Khomeini" - - what a guy to be friends with.

I had about forgotten this dog nut of a human being ever drudged the Earth. Good deaths die quickly (the old Trip play-on-words there).

Murdering 1500 people a day in Public executions and did this for months, non stop.

At least he gave them a Fair Trial before murdering them ..... 03-lmfao 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

'Time' is Consistent if nothing else.

Yeah, consistently liberal.

Didn't say it was individual to just him, just stated a fact.

I'm not beating it down your throat. It's important. It's a marker of how far our country has come in the last 40 years. It doesn't make him better or worse than any other president-elect, but that shouldn't diminish historical importance of his election.

Quote:He sure did with his promises of free handouts for leeches.
That's up for debate and largely irrelevant either way in terms of Time magazine. To deny that Obama had a political excitement about him that hadn't been seen in decades is just being disingenuous regardless of whether you agree with him or not.

Come on, you know better than to spout such partisan crap.
"for better or for worse, ...has done the most to influence the events of the year."

I'm lost as to the influence he's had.

Yes, he created excitment for the Obamanots. He won an election. He's black (well, almost. (sorry Trip, my KKK comes out now and then)), but what influence other than a rush on gun sells and people looking at real estate, in other countries?
