Word to the wise for any MAC school: get the biggest "buyout" clause you can, because contracts with coaches are made to be broken.

I believe the buyout was previously set at 100k....hopefully UB realized that it could end up being a large payday at some point and made that number a lot higher.
As greedy as that sounds, it really comes down to being a smart business move.
Locking Gill up until 2013 sounds a lot like what Ohio did with Solich.
In the Solich contract Ohio actually gave Frank a bonus if he stays for the duration of his contract instead of a buyout clause.
