So I was thinking about the game tonight and I was wondering how much the Christmas break would affect our attendance. Hopefully we'll still have a pretty good turn out. I just know that the student attendance will probably be down. Who else is coming out to the game?
4327 + or - 45
It would be nice if we could get another 6,000+ to the game.

According to some on here that would be our first 6,000+ crowd of the year.

Had we beat Cincy, I think we would have had a crowd to rival the USF crowd. I think that 4,000 is more like it for this game.

I hope that we see 8,500 though.
Right now, there 326 people on facebook that are listed as "Attending" and 331 "Maybe Attending". I don't know if that really matters, but it's about half of what we had for the USF game. Honestly, that kind of student turnout wouldn't be too bad for a Christmas break game....
I think 5,000 would be good with the student turnout most likely down.
I will be there + 4.

The 11-day pause will cancel that out (as it would have cancelled out a win, too).

It is time to start ramping up Belief. 8,800 is both possible and necessary. Our Blazers must see that we turn out for them, not for the opponent.
I think 4,000+ is probably going to be the most likely. We can still get "The Bart" rocking with 4 grand.
I apologize for my abscence. I can't reschedule a surgery that happens to be that morning. I might be able to make the 20th, but most definitely the 22nd.
We have played Jacksonville State twice, in December 1995 and December of 1998. In 1995, Gene Bartow's last year, we had a horrible team and drew 4097. In 1998, which was Murry's third year, we had a decent team that went to the NCAA, and drew 4276. I would think in 2008, with UAB being much better, Jacksonville State being much much better, we should have better than those two attendance figures.

We have never really drawn a huge Jacksonville state crowd, but as well as they are playing, if they have any fans, this would be the year they show up.

The number seemed fairly accurate for the USF game, so hopefully it will hold true for this game. 300 students at a December game would be a huge increase over last year. One of the games last year, I remember being one of 6 students in the student section.

I remember that as well, and I was very embarrassed on behalf of the rest of the student body for the lack of support- but at least I was there!!!

But yeah- realistically speaking, a crowd of 300 students wouldn't be bad at all for a December game.
I think around 5,000. JSU may bring more than they ever have brought, (which isn't very many).

JSU will give us all we want in this game. They are not your run of the mill cupcake this season. They have a very good hard nosed coach that believes in defense and will try to bloody our noses. This will be a dogfight.....er cockfight!

We hit our open looks that we will get from their overplaying on D and we will break it open in the second half and win about like we did at Troy. We have an off night and slop around and it will be another USF game. I have been to some of their practices and they are capable of beating us if we let them hang in the game. I would say they would drill a third of the teams in C-USA but after seeing some of them, most teams would any way.
James Green is 6-9 against UAB while at Southern Miss.
think Jack State will bring a decent crowd?
No. Not based on past history. They will most likely bring about 30 -40 people which would be their biggest crowd yet in 3 games. I will say the other two games JSU was pretty bad though. Maybe they will surprise me.
I don't expect we will bring many. However, I'll be there (+1), the first time I've made a road trip for basketball in probably 10 years. If there are more like me, perhaps we can all be surprised.

While we have had a great start, I'm not sure how widely known that is. We have many, many alumni in Birmingham, but if you guys think you get the shaft from the press there, try finding the B'ham News' stories about us.

People in Calhoun County are beginning to take note of the turnaround, but with this game coming mid-week I'm not sure how many will make the drive.
+3 here, maybe 4
I need two extra if anyone has a couple. It's for some potential new fans........ PM me.
